Quitting tomorrow.

Hello all. I've decided to quit tomorrow. I think I'll be using and vapor cigarette, as i just don't think cold turkey is right for me. To any who have used a vapor what can I expect to go through? Do you still face the same challenges as with cold turkey? I've also considered the patch but that didn't work so well last time as my job is pretty active and it kept sliding off due to sweat. What helped you over come the cravings and crabbiness? Thanks in advance for any help . :)

Hello.

I quit using an e-cig and for me, it did make life easier but you do have to persevere. It helps with the hand-to-mouth habit. You do still get cravings and the e-cig will help to alleviate them. I think really, you just have to push on through.

OK. I can handle that. I'm so worried . I took some steps today and asked all of my co-workers not to offer me one and asked my husband to start keeping his in his car. I hope that helps. We do have a "vaping" area at work as well that is separate from the smoker's booth so I think that will be handy. Did you wean yourself off of the Vapes or do you still use them?

I did the same as you. I asked husband to stop offering and to hide all smoking related materials (nothing worse than seeing a packet and a lighter on the windowsill).

Do not be worried. You can do pretty much anything you put your mind to. Don't be concerned about coming off the vape just yet. However, in my experience, quitting with an e-cig is nothing like quitting actual cigarettes. I weaned myself off fairly quickly but others take their time.

Take today 1 hour at a time. Don't stress over tonight or even this afternoon.

You can do this.

No nothing worse than that, it's caused my quits to fail several times last year. This time I'm determined though, I want fresh breath and a healthy body :)

Hiya I stopped with an e-cig, it definitely helps but like Mushen says you have to persevere and push through it. I still had cravings and found the best thing was to keep busy and take it one day at a time, my mantra was I will not smoke today, if I had a penny for every time I said it I would be a billionaire by now!!😂😂😂 if your feeling tempted or low post on here and someone will offer support or advice. Be strong YOU CAN DO THIS X

Huge welcome to our community Cashierlady and congratulations on making the best decision of your life and a choice that you will never regret. I stopped cold turkey over 2 and a half years ago but we have several members here who successfully stopping using an ecig and over their 1 and 2 year milestones :) Do you intend to use a 0% nicotine or nicotine % and gradually wean off it? If 0%, then you will have all the withdrawals of going cold turkey and just be continuing the hand to mouth habit but with nicotine will take the edge of the withdrawals depending on the strength you are using.

You will experience nicotine withdrawal either way so best to keep as busy as possible, loads and loads of water, lots of fruit and vegetables and daily exercise to clear the head. Below is some pinned posts worth a read if not already done so that has some excellent tips (there are others there too if you need to pass a craving!!)

Thank you! It may wind up being more than one post, ha! For now I will be using one with 3ish mg nicotine and then when I feel like I'm ready move myself to a zero nicotine. But for now I'm just gonna focus on right now. I am sorry these replies are so late. I don't always have a free second until bed time. But I will make time tomorrow and probably be on here as often as possible. Thank you for your kind words and support.

hello! I am currently using a TWISP and have been for about 6 months and i love it ! I I started on 8mg of tobacco and told myself i would try cut down to 3mg and eventually to 0mg - well nothing has changed and i am still loving the 8mg!

It does keep me away from cigarettes which are filled with all nasty substances - so for now it is what it is. I feel good :)

Good luck !!

Hello! I've never heard of twisp, though I will be looking into it now. I'm on martens, and they are pretty good so far. Just plugging along for now, whatever keeps me away from cigarettes😎. Congrats on 6 months! I just ready to get through today 🤣

TWISP may be a South African type of Vape, i thought it was an international brand however... By the way, i am almost at the 1 year mark - just started twisping 6 months ago. Take Care X
