This will be the 3rd proper attempt for me and feeling a bit anxious.
I gave up first time with Zyban for about 6 months, 2nd time 18 months ago with Champix but got terrible depression and ended up off work for a month and back on the cigs.
I have been smoking since my early teens, some 30 years. I am up to 30/40 a day and have been for some time.
Last couple of visits to the dentist have prompted this attempt. He has told me that I have bone loss and will lose my teeth prematurely if I dont stop smoking. My teeth look fine and the thought of losing them terrifies me.
My mum is also a very heavy smoker now in her early 60's and has been diagnosed with COPD but carries on nevertheless. Her cough is horrendous and I dont want to end up that way.
I am one of those you see huddled outside the office 3 times a day rain or shine and I hate the embarrassing smell when I walk back into the office.
Like many smokers I spend the majority of the day ashamed of my smoking but at the same time justifying it to myself.
I am using patches from tomorrow and the inhalator. I did try Easyway once but only lasted a day or two.
So fingers crossed, glad I found this forum, lots of good tips and advice.
Tracey

Sounds like you've been around the block on this a few times but now seem to have a more positive mindset to quitting which is your first and major defence against the Nicodemon.
I can assure you that you'll get all the help you need from the members on here.
Hi Tracey, and congratulations on the first day of your vastly improved new life!
Like other people on here my advice to you would be read, read, read. When it gets difficult it helps so much to focus your mind, and the more you know about the addiction, the quitting process etc, the easier it is to cope with.
You absolutely can do this. Don't be afraid of it, embrace it.
I had been reading some of the actual posts right here but you guys offer great information as well as I wanted to leave just a little comment to support you as well as wish you a good extension.

Anyone want to buy an electronic cigarette? Or maybe a Russian bride or some viagra?
I want to buy an electronic bride, and some Russian viagra which makes bits of you smoke.
Or maybe an excellent device to enlarge my dingle dangle.
It's alright, I'll be able to afford it all because there's a bloke in Guyana who wants to give me a couple of million he's got in a box under his bed. He seems awfully nice and polite. I'm looking forward to getting the money soon.
Now I'm going to go to bed and try out my new pills that give me a gleaming white stomach and tight, toned teeth.
