Welcome to the forum.

I can't really comment on the champix thing, i did CT myself:eek:

However i can say you have made a very wise choice, quitting smoking is one thing you should never regret.

Tomorrow, just keep in mind all the reasons you are doing this, whether it be money, health, family whatever the reasons when you feel a crave just put those to the front of your mind.

Everybody here is here for the same reason, so please come along often and let us know how you are getting on.

Good luck with tomorrow.

I'm on day 3 of Champix so I wish you all the best, exciting and bloody nerve racking at the same time. I was going for day 12 but I may try day 9. When did the drugs kick in for you?? Was there a huge difference when you started taking the blue tablets??

I wish you the very best and let us know how you do.

Hi Flipper and other noobie quitters.

I too went CT, and overall, I found it easy, but I really had strong resolve to do it this time.

I have to say these forums helped me as much as my resolve, just "belonging" to a club so to speak, posting every time I moved up a forum page, not wanting to come online and tell people I'd failed, reading all the positive posts by people ahead of me timewise with their quits, reading a lot of the links people were good enough to post.

I found admitting to myself that I had an addiction problem was a big help too.

Sometimes, especially early on, you might find you literally have to get through minute to minute, but its not impossible, stay strong, stay focused, stay busy, get some sweets in, and post regularly, were all here for you. It gets easier as time passes, it really does.

Good luck

Paul

Yes once you start on the 1mg you do notice a difference, you cant get a good pull on your cig and soon you will be throwing them away after just a few pulls. I also noticed that i felt a bit sick with them. it do go away with food and a big glass of water.

I will keep you posted as to how tomorrow goes. I have go to do it this time!!!!!

How are you coping? is it what you expected? My 8 year old is desperate for me to get an inhalator and he is one of my motivations.

Hi Flipper

I am actually coping alot better than I thought I would, few bad dreams and disturbed sleep over past 4 days but its worth it.

I use the inhalator when I have eaten and when first get up in the morning as thats when i crave the most it really helps!

I am also doing it for my little lads, 1 of 11yrs the other almost 3. Its a great reason to do it and my 11yr old has told me how proud he is which motivated me even more!! :D

Stick with it and make sure you read plenty and post on here, it's really helped me over the last few days!

All the best to you

Mel xx
