Ongoing copd flare ups,with this absolute frighting gasping for air, recently I've nearly died

I'm so tired of the constant taking of pill's, inhalers, with a Gp telling me that I will not get oxygen cause I'm not serious enough??

Wow, Hambob , that all sounds a little frustrating. Have you already quit or are you at the planning stage?

I'm on the patches but have an occasional cigarette (daft) I know but I'm so scared of exerting myself to the point it happens again and I live on my own and I don't think my heart will be strong enough if it happens again.I had the flu jab as every year and I got the flu two weeks ago,didn't help, I got to get oxygen from the Gp

Welcome Hambob , sorry to read of your COPD diagnosis, sounds quite frightening :O

I was seeing Star's and I was ready to go(die) that was the first time my breathing was so bad,gasping for air, I've had a flare up before (scary) as well you know but I've just kept still and my breathing gets back to Norma after 20 minutes, this was frighting

Please be very careful Hambob with using patches and smoking too as you could overdose on nicotine.
