The Aftermath of a Electrical storm without rain

Yup…as the saying goes “ It never rains but pours” .. In our situation it truly never rains but we are being battered with an upside down weather formation…On the 3rd of January we had a system building and at the end, all we got was a huge Electrical and wind storm which took out our Satellite dish and being in Africa took me two weeks to get the parts to repair it myself…! And yes, no rain !!!

Ok, so it is still critical dry and Roisin nailed it with the report on the Piquenos Libombos dam where I am getting our irrigation water from….On a meeting held by the Government and Arazul it was decided that we are not allowed to irrigate any more with the dam on 19%....Yes, please keep on praying for that urgently needed rains…Ja, that pic was about the last good rain we had…!!

Enough of the down side, All is well, the terrible flu was knocked out with a good over the counter anti biotic (I believe it is only in Africa anti biotics are sold over the counter)

Had and extreme super new years weekend on my new “ Roll’s “ and so happy with the stability and wave punching ability of this Kayak…Makes aging easy..and fishing nice !!

Truly amazed to see all the new super positive Quitters….Take my word, it is micron suffering in comparison with the quality of life you will experience if you stay smoke free…

Sorry but for me, there is no excuse that can make us smoke again..This life on the other side is “mutifull”it is the way it should be…without the huffing and puffing, the stench..the ability to smell and taste again….Ask the question: why should I deprive myself from all this niceness…”???

Not for one moment I say it is easy to quit because it is NOT!!…With my life history of endurance it was the utmost difficult thing for me to do and I am so glad I could stay quit for 2 and half years now and going from strength to strength. I really do not want to go through that hell again..!

Thank you Roisin for being patient in my forced absence but 2 G android signal was just to weak to reply…!! (I could only read the posts)

May all the quitters not quit to quit in this new year and face this challenging part of our life with all the power we got…Attack do not defend…!!

Good to see you back Hercu, and obviously enjoying your new kayak. You can't beat quality.

That storm sounds crazy! Hope you get some of the wet stuff sooner rather than later.

Nozmo...Yes, crazy it was, knocked out the power supply for three days, Main Electrical poles blown over...Two Transformers burned and like I said the Intrenet Dish got direct hit and the LNB fried...Without a drop of rain...Incredable!!

The Yak is Super...Truly, cant beat quality..Stealth really built good quality Fishing ski's ...Maybe because the owner is a Kayak fisherman himself..!

We complain about the weather in this country but that is real, serious stuff.

Nice fish man! Praying you get rain. Congrats on the "Rolls" you deserve it. Not only did you overcome and endure but you stay & help in case we flounder.

Really helped me here you say a lifetime of endurance & this was hardest. Still feelin kinda weak sometimes & a hit ashamed of it. Don't want to smoke just don't want to feel the way i feel sometimes & health stuff being unmasked. Maybe part of the overcoming it?

Thanks for encouraging us while you're going through all your stuff. Good to see another who smoked as long as me doing so well. Gives hope! Thanks Hercu

Exsmo...Thank you, and yes, it was really hard to quit, up to a point where the good starts to outweight the bad...When it happened, I can not pin point but it does happen..Truly, smoking became a way of life and then suddenly without it is not easy but oh..so nice..!

The yak is nice, so fast and sleek...and the manuverability and stability is amazing..!

You are doing extremely well, Exmo..Be proud of yourself ... you are in it to win it !!

The Yak looks like it woukd maneuver very well! One day i hope to be as energetic & back on water. Best place to be eh? Happy for you.

Til then i'll take your word that "point" will come where good outweighs bad... Might be getting glimpses of it already.

Always been a tad slow to things.. Guess this isnt going to be different. However once i get momentum not much stops me so i'll just keep readin & believin til it comes true.

Hey Exsmo - if you are into your fishing and kayaking, might be some good exercise for you and to help with your condition? (did you have a look at the Weight loss community I posted the other day,

healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh... )

PS Where are you from?

Would love to but have a balance/coordination problem at pesent. Hope its not lasting. Not much is known about this. My walk partner bailed today so i couldnt go:(. In case of falls i have to let someone know where am going. Putting me on water...nm that may be xactly what i need! A swim at our town pavillion (indoor pool). They have a lifeguard! I wouldnt have to explain it all!
