Anyone want shortbread or chocolate biscuits? Need to get onto a better diet if I’m quitting smoking and cutting down on drinking 😁

in reply toCiggieStardust

Oh that sounds delicious yummy I love sugar but At almost 6 month of quitting I had to stop caffeine and now trying no sugar ....caffeine because it was causing me anxiety after quitting cigarrets

I’ve never been into drinks so much but I know the first couple of months is best to no drink because you still vulnerable and under training sort of saying

My best friend quit for 2 months but alcohol triggers smoking so she failed unfortunately she is back to smoke but seriously thinking of quitting and staying away from alcohol for at least 2 months after quitting

Best of luck I’m dealing with sugar now is hard for me because I love cookies cake and all that 😋

Really prefer savoury things so def want to avoid sweet stuff. Not working till 2/1 so while at home will keep busy and drink plenty of WATER ! Restrict myself on alcohol as best I can. That way hoping to reduce the cravings. If not I’ll be banging my head against the wall and tearing my hair out!!

Hi Roisin. Yes I had my final cigarette on Christmas Day. Haven't had any cravings so far. Today is my second day. Drinking plenty of water and fruit juices. And find I'm eating more regularly and a little healthier - so far!!

Stay with it. Make it be "last year's thing". Don't stop deciding not to be a smoker any more. It was never your friend and (speaking personally) - I never thought it suited you at all.

Have a good 2018.

I cut myself a break and ate fudgesickles. A calculated move for 2 reasons. 1. Am hypoglycemic. 2.Quitting may cause others to feel hypoglycemic bc nicotine brings sugar to bloodstream quicker than eating.

I don't condone overeating or not eating good nutrition, but going through this i let some things go for a limited time and concentrated on my addiction only. Your body will let you know. Main thing is learning the difference between what your body tells you and what your addiction tells you. You are going to make it. Be easy on you and tough toward the nicodemon that wants you to have no good in life.

You will be able to drink without smoking in the near futuro I’ve seen people did it in this forum is just a matter of patience and sacrifice ..It really pays not feeling like a slave of such horrendous addiction ..I dedicated my first 3 months to read about cigarret damages to health ..I had to do it !!

He only problem is that I was eating a lot of sugar and gained 15 lbs 😟So now I’m trying to balance my diet ..but those extra lbs were nesesary for me at the beginning ..and yes water is so important

I vape nicotine free once in a while if I’m in a social event or if I’m stressed

Excellent reply Hidden - you are doing great, don't worry about any weight gain, that can be addressed at a later stage when you are strong and solid in your journey. Hope you had a good Christmas?

I think Ciggie needed to quit drinking too. Correct me if am wrong. Either way proud of you doing it! I didn't need to quit drinking but did so i could be strong enough to quit cigs. Had to quit coffee too bc they're both triggers. Wanted to have a drink for nye but may not. Probably won't. Protected this quit for dear life.

I had a very happy smoke free chrismas Roisin ..very relaxed and with more free time to enjoy not worried about how I smell and having to get out of my house to get a smoke ..what a relieve for me this year and forever ☺️

I am busy preparing for Hogmanay (New Year's Eve) which involves deep-frying shortbread and making Whisky Ice-Lollies for the kids.

Goodbye to a 2017, and good riddance to the rotten year which took my beloved big brother away.

Maybe something good will happen in 2018.

All of you folks that have decided not to be smokers any more... keep not doing it. It is the single best thing you wont ever do again.

Its Saturday 29 December 2017, my 4th day of quitting. I came close to smoking today except I didnt have any and was to busy doing important PC work to go out to buy any! Tearing my hair out!! BUT, NF today. Have thrown away 2 lots of biscuits, have box and bottle of wine in cupboard but am really not interested. My new furry feline is now curled up under my arm while i'm working on PC. I had to put him on cushion on my knee as he was still hiding in his basket. 3 more days and I'll have been NF for a week and doing better than I thought. Thank you all for keeping me going xx

🎭Distract your mind ciggie and make magic

On my first couple of months I trained myself to trick my mind , and that’s how I successfuly quitted ..

There was times I told myself I already went to smoke when I actually didn’t .

visualize all your organs clearing and repairing as days goes by

The idea of feeling healthier is going to be your new habit ..it’s the best!

It is important to have a list of 10 things to do instead of smoking ,and try one at a time !

One day at a time !!!

Soon you are not going to miss smoking you will see

⏰Time and distraction are important !

Your body deserves the opportunity to heal 💕
