First day of champix

Hi everyone I've just taken my first dose I really hope it works I've been smoking for 20 years 😩 An need help I've tried giving up before

Hi Hayley.im just coming towards the end of my champix dose.Im off the cigarettes 3 months nxt Tues. If you stick to the guidelines on the champix box,you'll have no problems..I found them excellent.also I found this site very good and the people on here are very helpfull.if you have any questions,just ask..Good Luck..Kieran

I'm on my 5th week of Champix, I've been completely stopped for 11 days now, before those 11 days I was cutting down, the Champix will eventually make you not want to smoke, which is the best thing, there are some side effects I've had, the most horrible metal taste in my mouth, it's disgusting! But, I've now associated that taste with the nicotine leaving my body - it helps thinking that, I can put up with it if it's doing me good!

You will still get cravings, when they happen to me I come on here and read through the posts or listen to Allen Carr on audio book - they soon go away.

Welcome to the world of champix. I've been smoke free for 11 days now and I mist say these tablets are amazing. At first I hated them because I felt so sick, then I stopped smoking on day 11 and the sickness went and now I feel great. Good luck

Hayley...Best decission of your life and well done...Please remeber that Champix is not the Magic pill that makes you stop...you must stop and Champix will help a great deal.

Stay strong and enjoy the journey..it is a bumpy ride but so worth it !!!

How are you feeling now taking it ? Iv had trouble not sleeping since day one of taking the pill. Not had this side effect before. The other times all I wanted to was sleep was like a zombie x

Hi laura6 , from other members that used champix, it has been suggested taking the last pill earlier in the day if affecting your sleep and off course doing the usual stuff to relax and wind down before bed....
