Day 26 πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

So I'm at day 26 today! Apart from when I was pregnant (gave up smoking cold turkey straight away.....twice!!) I have never got this far before! I was using Champix but stopped taking it last weekend due to the crazy dreams and starting to feel terribly sick! Weirdly I feel fine.....i expected to crave and feel stroppy but so far so good!

I love being able to take the kids to the park without sneaking off for a shameful puff and going into the shop without asking for 20 sterling dual!

My children actually made me cry the other day (they're 6 and 4) because they told me how proud of me they are ❀❀ my eldest said she was glad I've given up because she doesn't want me to die.....that hit me so hard and made me realise how selfish we are when we smoke!

Kacoates...Well done..My wife did the same with our three sons..The oldes being 40 this year...but soon after birth she smoked again until her heart attack 9 years ago and she never smoked since...!

Well done on 26 Days and surely it will be getting easier and easier as time passes.. Stay strong...!!

Congrats! It surely is a great accomplishment quitting. I am still surprised I am a non-smoker. I remember not too long ago wondering what it would be like to drive around without puffing on a cigarette, and just the other day it hit me... I have been driving around puff free and all I could do was smile.

My kids hounded me for a while about quitting and I agreed I needed to but wasn't ready. I used to get mad b/c they would want to be all close to me while I was outside smoking and I would have to tell them to back away because I didn't want the smoke too close to them. Now I don't have to do that or worry about covering my clothes with perfume to cover the smoke smell.

I have bad days where I am just so tired and my head is pounding me, but the benefits far outweigh them nasty cancer sticks. Stay the course and good luck! Congrats again :)

Ah well done Kacoates34 - you are doing great, nearly at your huge milestone of 1 month :O

Hold on to and cherish that thought of your kids saying they are proud of you especially when you have a craving :)

Thanks guys πŸ˜—πŸ˜— this forum is definitely helping me through it!

I've started swimming too - I'm asthmatic (should never have smoked!!) and weirdly feel like my breathing has got worse since quitting!! I struggled swimming tonight - I do try to push myself so some of it may be due to over doing it! Is this normal? I was hoping my breathing would have got better by now!

The breathing issues is perfectly normal withdrawal as your lungs is clearing out which is good, this may continue for another few weeks and you may even start coughing up tar from the cleansing of your lungs and throat, a spoonful of honey first thing in the morning and last thing at night will help with this - below link is worth a read with posts I pinned:

Thanks for the reassurance as it's been a bit worrying. One day my breathing will be fine, the next I feel really short of breath. I'll have a read, thank you.

4 weeks smoke free at 9pm tonight (not that I'm counting πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚)
