Hi guys,

Well where do I start....just back from Greece which was incredible. The downside? I smoked a tiny bit...don't know why but the temptation and need for one was mad in the 36 degree heat! and the beer was flowing and I had no cares so I am assuming that's been why? to be honest though I could have had the thought process of "oh well ive failed Ill keep smoking" but I didn't...in a weird way it was a great reminder as to why I have stopped and havnt had one since.

Wanted to keep you guys in the loop. itll be 2 months tomorrow if I don't count my holiday blip!! what was I thinking!!!!!

Has anyone else here had a wee blip or relapse?

Thanks as always,

Matt

Hey Matt28 - good to hear from you and glad you're home safe and sound!

Sorry to read you relapsed on holidays but huge well done for coming back on here and share it with us, that took guts and goes to show your strength and courage. As you relapsed, I have removed your milestone badge as it would not be a true reflection of the milestone achieved.

It is up to yourself whether you re-start your quit or not, but I would strongly advise to re-start it as it will give the required discipline and determination never to do it again and learn from it. Yes, MANY of our members relapsed numerous times but the difference in the succeeding was re-starting their quit, those who did not re-start are sadly no longer with us here on the community as it was too easy for them just to have 'that one' smoke and were sucked back in....

You know what you have to do and we are/will be here with you all the way, wishing you strength, you CAN do it!

Hi Matt28 - I am almost 2 weeks quit and in my previous attempts got up to 6 months, smoked on holiday, stopped when I got home, then when I was out, would have 'just the one' - within 1 month I was back to full time smoking so would agree with RoisinO1 to re-start your quit as it will give you the determination to never have that puff again...

Well done Matt28 for sharing your relapse with us, you could have easily said nothing, I too agree with Exfirecracker and Roisin and would re-start your quit, it will make you more determined and focused never to have a smoke again when things get tough or in certain stuations..... you can do it!
