Still here xx

Hi all,

Last time I was on here it was July. I kept trying for advice to quit smoking, well boy have I quit!!! I had a Subarachnoid Haemorrahage (brain haemorrahage) in July................hubby found me lying on floor. Consultants say this was all due to smoking, and guess what...I haven't smoked since, but I constantly think of it. Stupid eh?

:) I've come off very lucky, I'm really well after all what I have been through since July. Please everyone out there, don't carry on smoking and go through what I have just gone through, if you can't do it for yourself do it for your families. Kill the weed before it kills you.

Take care, B xx

And that, my friends, is a true example of threshold:

"the point at which a stimulus is of sufficient intensity to begin to produce an effect"

So sorry to hear about your recent experiences. I do hope that you are well on the way to a better healthier life!

....and you know it already, but quitting is definately the right way forward! xxx

Bless you, yip some wake up call, eh? But I'm all good, luckily. Thank you for responding to my thread.

I have been very lucky, I didn't want to frighten anyone, I just wanted to highlight what can happen.

B xxx

I'm delighted that the warning didn't turn out to be a fatal one - just sorry that it had to get to that point before you did something about it.

Let's hope that your posting helps convince others of the perils of the weed.

Stay strong! x

You are so right poppy, about 5 years ago I was very ill with pneumunia, much as everyone was telling me to stop I just couldn't (or didn't want to) -how stupid was I!

so glad to hear you are on the mend Bonnie, and pleased to see you haven't been tempted by the evil weed! Well done U xx

oh wow bonnie!

what a scare that must have been for u and your family:(

at least u r here to tell the tale(as it was!) and you've had a warning but now you've done something about it:) and hopefully you can only get better & stronger day by day.

just think....it's made you stronger! and you can pass on your experiences to other smokers, who will hopefully listen and learn from you that smoking is not worth it in the end.

BE STRONG! we can all help one another through the tough times, and we are all here for you!

best wishes. poskit.x:)

Aw Bonnie

I'm so sorry that you had to quit this way hun. It's still great that you did quit, though, as like poppy said, too many times smokers stay smokers even when their health gets a lot worse due to smoke. So you are doing great, just keep taking care of yourself :)

*sends happy thoughts*

My goodness Bonnie. Glad you are okay and a NON SMOKER now! What a terrible thing for you and your family :( Hope you are on full recovery now and that stupid nicotine demon stops bugging at you. You have been through enough and don't deserve to be bothered by the demon on top of it all. Good on you for quitting because it is the BEST thing for you! Glad you are back to the forum helping others before they run into the same trouble you have. Good Job Bonnie ;) Take care of yourself hun!

Hi all,

I want to thank each one of you for your well wishes, bless you. :)

It has been tough, it was tough on my family. I was out of it, if you know what I mean for the most of the worrying stage, my family had the worst time. They had the worry of waiting to see how I would be when I eventually came round, but hey! I'm not going to bore everyone with my story, I'm just lucky to be here.

What a nice, kind bunch of peeps you all are. It's good to have a place like this so that we can be supportive to each other. I know I've certainly benefited from the support, thank you all again xxx :)
