Quitting again...

Yes, I have quit quite a few times this year, but I am getting better at it. It's like a fat goose trying to take off from a choppy lake. Anyway, I am using a quit counter app to help me, it counts time, money saved, health time saved etc. Just google quit counter install and set you quit details, all free. I have been smoking a long time but I guess it is never too late to stop. what prompted me to quit? I don't want to lose my teeth, gum disease and all that. And I almost died a few years ago with pulmonary embolli. I don't know why I keep starting again but like I say I am getting better at it. The day I have pink gums again I will know I am there. :)

Have you begun your new journey, if so, can you just confirm your quit date for your milestone badges?

How are you getting on Hidden ?

I quit on the 20th. I also quit 10 days before that and 12 days before that one, etc. The thing is I absolutely adored smoking. It's only recently that I don't. The great thing is tobacco is now out of my price range or maybe I would be smoking again. I think the biggest mass murderers on the planet are the tobacco manufacturers and yet how many of them have seen any jail time? I knew a girl once who was getting married to a cigarette manufacturing CEO's son. I asked what she though about what her fiance did, how he had acquired his money, etc., she said she did not care. Too many people have become filthy rich out of killing people like us. Bankrupt them, don't buy their products.

Congratulations bobb10 :) this is a wonderfully supportive place. I quit just over six weeks ago for the first time. I'm experiencing mixed symptoms and using an e cig to help. Still I think it's the best decision I've ever made. You can do this! :)

Keep going, go for walks. Best time of the year to quit. Sit outside and get a suntan!

Hello and welcome Hidden

I too smoked for decades and have had a few quit attempts. The good news is that it can be done and that you can do it.

Good luck and if you need support, we're right behind you!

I'm just hoping I caught my heart in time.

Well I Don't believe it is ever too late to stop. Whatever happens, stopping now will bring many benefits. Quitting can be quite a lonely process and I found that support is vital, so if you find yourself struggling, post on here - there is always somebody around to help. Also we have all used\are using different methods so somebody will be able to help.

Yay - I'm going cold turkey, no walking sticks, no vapes, no handcuffs, but I do like lager. :)
