Hi, I stopped smoking 10 days ago, my first reading was 51, went to see nurse yesterday and it was zero, I think machine must have been faulty?? I havent had a cigarette for 10 days but still think the reading must be wrong.

Hi janey08, welcome to the forum and congratulations on getting to ten days...brilliant stuff!

You're right, CO should be drastically reduced after ten days but there should still be some there.

In the study I've seen there is a reduction from 17 ppm to 3 ppm but this is obviously a different scale to the one used on you. Maybe the machine is calibrated to show the baseline (non smoker) reading as zero?

Anyway, enough rambling from me. Glad to have you here!

Thanks janey08

Yeah, seeing the results of the CO test is a big boost.

You SHOULD be proud of yourself! Keep it up and let us know how it's going. Post as often or as little as you like.

It's a bit quiet here tonight but usually lots of people willing to help and encourage.

Hello and welcome!

Well whether the machine was wrong or not, it does not detract from how amazingly well you are doing!

10 days is brilliant. 🙄

Just keep on going as you are because whatever you are doing is working.

Excellent stuff! 😎😎😎

Janey..Warm welcome and excellent stuff being smoke free for ten days.. Just Gr8...I feel that the reading might be true if you are a "Healthy" person... The moment you stop smoking you take in more oxygen and the body starts to clean itself and get rid of all the impurities......That is wonderful news... Stay strong !!
