Today is day 105 - I havent used a patch since Saturday, however I yave struggled today and it took every bit of stubborness not to buy a packet.

I even told myself that no matter how long I go I will always want a cig and might as well quit the quit and go back to being a happy smoker

Hi runmeg. Sorry to hear you've had a tough day. That nasty bugger Nico doesn't give up does he.

Great job on not giving in, I'm sure tomorrow will be a lot better

Keep strong!

Give yourself a pat on the back runmeg. You're finding it hard but you're still doing it.

I struggled at the weekend too, and almost had one...which would have led to more.

Hope it gets easier for you over the next few days.

That is the real issue isn't runmeg . Smoking would only stop that wanting feeling, for say, 5 minutes. Then the withdrawals would start again, but this time they would be stronger. So what would be the point.

Never think of going back to being a "happy smoker" You wouldn't be quitting if you were that happy.

You have done the right thing in acting straight away, keep going. It will get better ;)

Well done runmeg . I would have been so gutted for you if you caved in. You have come such a long way and would have been a real shame to throw it all away for less than 5 minutes of 'so called pleasure'. You attacked and won this battle, next one will be less severe and you will be victorious again. Keep that guard up at all times. It will get easier, I promise....

Clearly you weren't a happy smoker or you wouldn't have quit. The lies our addiction tells us to try and get us back smoking. Also you will NOT always want a cigarette. More lies! I certainly don't want one - a piece of chocolate cake yes please but a cig eww no thanks.

I assume you're trying to get off the patches now and are on the lowest dose? How about trimming them down - maybe cut in half then down to quarters? Eighths? You get the idea

Thanks guys, yes I have won the Nico battle today and this evening I feel great and wouldn't want a cig even if I was offered total health and wealth
