Going to Trans Siberian Orchestra tonight w Dad & nephew. Feel so nervous and really want a cig multiple times today. Am also weaning down off Chantix but have not lowered dose for a week. Am pretend smoking a straw and drinking coffee for "comfort" & feel like a nut craving like this! Does anyone know why am having multiple cravings & when they will quit?

Hey Exsmo - I bet any money you will have a great night smoke free at the Orchestra.

When I stopped, I too had to stop drinking coffee as associated it with smoking - I think you should try and cut it out and see if the cravings improve, also, try to make note of when the cravings strike, is it when you are bored/not active, anxious or worried, my solution to this was to keep the mind busy - by sucking the straw and drinking coffee is perhaps making the cravings worse, intense and last longer and you mind is drawn back to smoking, even though you are not (if that makes sense). Water was a huge help for me in a water juicer bottle with chopped up cucumber, mint and lemon and topped up throughout the day with ice cold water, brought it everywhere with me :O

If you feel you are not ready to reduce Chantix, then don't, this is your journey and do whatever is best for you, even after the 12 week course and still feel not ready, get the dose extended....

Enjoy your night with your Dad and nephew, go all out and dress up showing off the new smoke free you to them :)
