Day 58 testing times ahead

Been struggling with sciatica since last week and today the doc has signed me unfit for work for the next 10 days, on diazepam, nefopam and vimovo. Work has been the one thing that has kept me busy and off the cigs, it is going to be a mental battle to keep strong and focused whilst doing nothing at home.

Hi yes exercises are on the agenda once I have the pain under control, I am normally a very active and independant person which is one thing I am not at this moment in time.

Determined to keep off the cigs though

That's a bit of a blow at this stage runmeg but you can still do it. Try not to dwell on the work thing too much. What has worked for you at home? I think that's what you need to focus on until you're back at work. What can you do at home to keep you busy? You have also gone for 58 days so you have learned how to deal with cravings better. You have that in your arsenal.

Sciatica is horrible, suffered from that for a few years after a football injury. You have my sympathy there.

Keep posting as much as you need to. Best wishes.

What about a bit of Internet shopping? Buy some stuff that will help you pass the time? Sell stuff on eBay? I love doing that...but I get into trouble for it 😕

Think we may go to our caravan - all on one level so easier than at home and whenever we go at weekends my cravings are a lot less anyway,

Got some paperwork to catch up on at home

Oh no Runmeg sorry to read this, boredom is dangerous alright so you need to do up a daily plan for the next 10 days to keep you busy, I know you will be limited to physical stuff until the sciatica settles, maybe join netflix - think you get a free trial run and can unsubscribe when you are fit to get out and about.

If you are creative, drawing, painting, sewing or even knitting, just to keep your mind busy, or self pamper yourself with facial, nails, nice baths etc... nice girly stuff, which will help your recovery too....you can do this and will have an extra 2 weeks not smoked when you return to work!

Thanks evrryone, gone to our caravan, all on one level so a lot easier for me, still not tempted by the cigs, cheewing gum and keeping busy watching the OH doing odd jobs inside and outside the van :)
