Just think how far you've come. That's 23 days without the evil weed, a fantastic achievement. You can do this - day by day it will get a little bit better but there will still be times when you don't think you can carry on. You can. You've already proved your resolve. I remember feeling so tired, partly because I had such difficulty in sleeping, but it will pass - believe me.

Agreed, you are gone so far already, think about going back to the beginning again in a few months, because you know you don't want to be a smoker, you will be just delaying the process...the quit over and over is frustrating and depressing , just take your time, sleep it off, cry as much as you want or need but don't touch the cigarettes, I know you can do this. Sending you a hug right now :)

thanks for the hug and kind words...

When does it get better

I think it gets better if we just keep reminding ourselves of why we started this - I mean the quit, not smoking.

When the cravings come, or when we feel was easier when we were smoking, we've just got to think about the situation and make a choice. Yes it would be so easy to go back to smoking (as I've done so many times before) but what would that really achieve? We'd be back to square one, wasting our time and money and for what - smoking just isn't worth it!

Quitting is hard at times but is continuing to smoke the answer - after 30 years I know it isn't and that's why I'm trying to stick like glue to my quit even though there are times when I would love just one more cigarette.

We've managed to get this far - 24 days (for me) is really good. We've got nothing to lose so let's see if we can do another 24.

it gets better when you stop thinking about it.

It gets better when you get it in your head that there's no turn around, its done - just live your life.

It gets better when you stop trying to make it better.

It gets better when you reach a stage of mind where you don't even think about it, you just accept the fact that you cannot touch the cigarettes, like I cannot eat sugar because of the diabetes.

hey...You are not depriving yourself from them, you have chosen to live without them.

Hey Groushas, sorry to her you are having a bad day, someone once told me ( not sure how true this is) at you measure in weeks per years.... So if you smoked for 20 years e.g it will take at least 5 months (20 weeks) for you to feel a lot better.

I smoked for 28 years so I am under no illusions it could take a good 7 months to feel like me again, we just need to ride this out, good luck xx

Thanks again for your comments ...

maya very true.... how to stop

when i have 5 apps for quitting smoking and daily i am here lol

Donna hope you are true that i can handle 18 weeks Is that true though? Anyone?

I wouldn't know, I've quit many times but never go past week 8

why what happens on week 8 ?

I go into pure depression! That's a big problem for me, I choose not to think too much about it, otherwise I'll be defeated before I even start. I've read abt 10 books about stress and techniques to deal with stress. My favourite and the one I'm using is: the don't! Simply, just don't deal with it. I'll explain, if a bill arrives the house and I don't have money, I start stressing and sometimes I can't even sleep over it, on the other side, my partner looks at the bill and doesn't even look at the due date, therefore he doesn't get stressed and the bill still gets paid at the same time. So, in order for me to go past week 6,7,8 I am not dealing with anything or anyone that will get me one bit stressed, I'll just excuse myself and walk away. I'm actually having a lot of fun doing this, like I said before this might be the new me. Everyone should try this some time, highly recommended. It's a pity I had to pay good money to get this into my head, could have got that for free just observing my partner at home lol

Good luck... it sounds like this time its your last time
