Day 3 - you're going down sucka!

Here i am on the morning of my 3rd day and feeling great. I was on day 3 last friday but it all went a bit Pete Tong in the evening and the weekend in general really. However, I climbed back on the freedom bike at 10pm sunday night and have been full throttle and cig free since.

There have been a few twitchy-bum moments but by and large its been really good. Im kind of enjoying the battle and every hour that goes by is another victory!

The further I go into this the more I have to lose and i dont want to be on day 1again and i dont want to have to go through hell week again. You see, i know i will have to do it all again because i am commited to this, 100%.

so day 3, wanna fight?

  • Well done you.

I have to say that Day 3 for me isn't going well. I woke up this morning feeling edgy. I then drove to work and almost crashed the car when some temporary traffic lights malfunctioned, and i was the idiot sat in the middle of the road with traffic coming at me from all sides. It was no fault of my own, but i got to work feeling sooooo stressed.

I then turned on the works kettle, only to find its broken. I now have to go to the local shop and replace it. A local store that sells fags, and i have been avoiding it up to now.

  • Magic, you're going to slay day 3!

  • Hi porcupine, whatever comes your way, try to get past it without smoking. I know how hard it can be but just keep trying. You came on this forum for a reason and you know that if you smoke you'll only have to start again and you will come back on day 1 because you want to stop. Hey, im no-one to give advice other than to share what I am doing which appears to be working.

  • Thanks Magic. I ended up nipping to the shop and buying some mints. Have now eaten the whole packet .... but no fags.

  • Good on you Magic - you sound really positive.

  • Well done Magic and Porcupine! My day 3 has been ok. Its the ciggie when i get home from work that i miss most so have come on here to check how you are doing. So pleased you are both doing well - it gives me another boost of self-belief!

  • Day 3 is the day that all the nicotine is out ur system (well if ur ct it) so kept it up guys ur all doing really well.

I no it hard to deal with stuff with out the fags. But just think ov it this way. The traffic light would have still bin broke and the kettle still would be out of order even if u still were smoking. Just try and think of it that way. U don't need fags to get through it.

  • You are all doing soooooooo well! And I sense a lovely supportive atmosphere amongst you guys - which can make the journey a lot easier. Keep it up, keep going, smoke-free is the place to be ...

  • Day 3 nearly over! Whoop whoop!

  • I feel stangely calm now and quite liberated! I think its the knowledge that I have no nicotine now in my body and now it is just a habit I have to kick - not an addiction. I know it can take up to 6 weeks to make and break a habit so it could still be a while before I feel completely over the ciggies but I'm prepared to stick with it.

I've started climbing that mountain and no way am I going back to fall off and start at the bottom again!

Bring on Day 4 Magic - lets kick that one into touch too!
