Hi Clairemhall

Wish I could say more than just......Hang in there !!!!

Go, sit down, make yourself a cup of tea and sip slowly whilst thinking about the news from your consultant ...Good or bad.

You have gone so far and please keep it up........

STRONGS...........

Thanks Hercu, not the best news today I have to have decompression surgery on my back, I even thought about sneaking to the shop earlier but I didn't , my kids are so proud of me at the moment I would be letting them down if I gave in x

It will get less and less and less, honestly it will! Sometimes it's hard to notice the cravings retreating, other times you'll get a sudden realisation that you haven't craved for longer than ever before - but it really really will get easier! I found keeping a 'crave diary' on my magical app ( smokefreediary.com/ ) really helped, and made me realise I was actually craving a lot less than I thought, when I looked back on it.

Mostly, just be strong, Hercu's right, all you have to do is keep it up! Sorry to hear about your surgery news. But don't smoke! xx

Clair, you could always turn to your kids when the going gets tough. Look into their eyes and ask yourself 'Is a cig more important than them?' 'Would they be disappointed with me for having just one?' The kids have a way of making this quitting business worth while. I know what your feeling and it'll take a while yet but know that these crave are now in your head, the nic's gone, you can beat this.

It's day 5 claire - things are going to be a little uncomfortable for a while.

Just think of it like an illness - your body is sick. its going to take a month or so for you to heal.

But just remember this is temporary - and once you have gone though it, you wont have to do it again

Keep going Claire. If its psychological it does not make it any easier. Have had some really bad days and other days when all I could do is get through the day. Your children's pride in your progress will keep you strong and it does get better, not as quick as we'd like and some of those steps backwards can nearly destroy your determination. But each time you resist it makes it easier. Keep going :)

How you doing today claire?
