:(Under a lot of stress to today, Father-in-law in surgery right now, awaiting phone call from other half to let me know that he is alright. Normally I would be smoking like a chimney, I don't feel that I CAN'T smoke, I don't WANT to smoke, I'm just not used to dealing with stressful situations without smoking, I smoked for all my adulthood & most of my childhood, so now it's like learning to deal with life a new way. Any words of wisdom?
Day 5 - feeling anxious: :(Under a lot of... - No Smoking Day
Day 5 - feeling anxious
I don't think there are any words that will help much.
But I would like to say than you are doing fantastically well today and once you have got through this "ordeal" you can be assured that nothing will ever be so bad as to break your quit!
I hope all goes well for your father in law and best wishes to your OH.
Well done.

Same as what NicFirth says, keep your chin up Scooby we are all behind you on this one.
Keep your chin up Scooby and I hope all is okay with your father-in-law.
If you start feeling anxious again just come on here and ramble. We will be listening.
Fingers crossed Scooby that all is ok .
Just remember, you are worried and stressed right now. If you have a cigarette though, you will still be worried and stressed, and also totally pissed off with yourself.
Stay strong, smoking will not help you in this (or any) situation
You are doing great!
Hi Scooby Doo
I would also like to pass on my regards for your father in law.
One thing to remember is that no matter what the situation is, Smoking will not change it for the better or the worse. the situation will be what it is.
if you did smoke the only difference to the situation would be that you were smoking (and probably feeling bad for doing it).
Best Wishes Scooby
Exactly what he said ^
The only thing that smoking changes is that you feel guilty on top of how bad the situation is.
I hope your Father in law is OK, and I hope you realise just what a big day this is for your quit.
Get through this stressful situation, and you will know you can do anything without smoking.
Your doing great!
Once you get over this situation without smoking you have cracked it!
Best wishes to your Father-in-law and all the family.
Still have not cracked

I'm very pleased to hear that you didn't smoke and that your father in law is ok.
Good news all round, and I hope you are suitably proud of yourself.

Hi Scooby,
If you'd had a cig, the problem would still be there when you stub out. The fact you didn't is a mark of your inner strength, keep the faith mate!!
