Day 5

Thanks for all of the support evryone. Mid-morning on Day 5 - quite a few cravings today but remain determined. It is weird how you have a general sense of jitteryness and difficulty in concentrating - part of the withdrawal symptons I guess

Wow nearly a whole week, that's just fantastic, doing a marvellous job, f course you will feel a little at a loss, or not focused for a little while, but it will pass.

Just keep going, bit by bit, doing great

You're doing so well Fordy, power through it! We're all different, of course, but the jittery feeling was gone by the end of my first week cold turkey. Keep saying NOPE!

Nearly a week now well done. The jittery feelings lessen very quickly. We go through a lot of changes and we all react differently but in the end we are stronger than anything Mr nicodemon throws at us. He doesn't die quietly but he will die if we starve him. Keep strong and believe in yourself. You can win

Great going. Yes, nearly one week. My teeth gnashing and need for oral stimulation was noticeable. The former stopped after about two weeks, the latter continues with sweet food, but I'll sort it out in the near future.

Thanks everyone. NOPE is rapidly becoming my mantra

I'm sure I just posted to you Fordy, but it hasn't come up! Congratulations on approaching your week 1. I had gnashing of teeth and a need to chew in the early days. It went after about two weeks, but I have compensated by eating lots of sweet stuff and still do, which I'm okay with for now; indulging myself. One thing at a time. I'll start increasing my water intake soon as I don't drink enough of it, and that should reduce the sugar crave.

The need to chew and eat is very strong. I am trying to stick to healthy stuff at the moment and drinking loads of water - but it is hard. Hoping to get through the next few days and that it will start getting a little easier as time goes by. Even now I look back to when I stopped on Saturday and I was almost climbing the walls for a cigarette so things are improving already

If you're CT it's going to more pronounced than for me, as I'm taking champix. Even with that I had the chomping desire. You're doing great just keep posting on here and the NOPE mantra.

Everyone's comments on the site are really helpful - definitely helping to stop me from giving in to those cravings

Well done your nearly through hell week which is a great achievement :)
