Day 1 for me, again

nsd_user663_57918 profile image

Have decided to quit again, last time I lasted a month may-june 2013 and failed as I got myself so down in the dumps. This forum was a godsend which is why I have come back. I am on day 1 and having to use an electric cig.

Hi to everyone

A very warm welcome, maybe look at your last quit as a practice run, this is the one that counts, I so love the fact you are with us on the forum, it's such a great support, please piost as often as you need ( if you feeling down with your quit get on here) such a lovely group of people, so come on let's make this the one.

You can do this

Hello Geri :D

Our paths wouldn't quite have coincided from when you were last on the forum. It's very good to 'meet' you and welcome back. I am sure there will be plenty of forum members around you remember you.

If you've done it before (including an entire year) I am quite certain you can not only do it again, but kick smoking into touch for good this time. There's quite a few of the gang using e-cigs to good effect as a quitting aid at present and I am sure you'll recieve plenty of advice as & when you need it.

Good on you for making the decision to get back in the saddle and do keep posting so we know how you're getting on. May you have a very happy and smoke-free Christmas and on 1st January you can tell yourself that you quit last year- how fantastic is that? :)

Hi Gerri. I'm on my 3rd serious attempt and I think you learn from the other ones. This time I binned all my smoking bits and pieces (I smoked rollies) instead of 'hiding' them 'just in case'. Who was I kidding? For me, I've come to the conclusion that it's all about attitude. It can sometimes be tricky to convince myself that I'm not really missing anything by not smoking but that's the smoking head game and I'm going to smash that pesky little blighter to bits! I do a little dance in front of the mirror every morning with a huge smile on my face. I'm happy not to have to smoke.

Hi, nice to meet you Gerti.

Great you have decided to quit again. Hope you find the e-cig helps. I found using one really helped get me through the first week. Good luck and look forward to hearing how you are getting on.

Thanks for the welcome, you are such a friendly bunch. I would usually use the patches to start me off but I am using the ecig just to ease me onto my journey. I am just reading back over my old posts to try and see if I can see the warning signs that led me back to the cancer sticks. I have spent the past 16-17 months puffing away and I still felt as miserable as sin. I also now have a permanent wheeze on chest when laying down at night which is why I ditched all my tobacco today. I intend to start daily walking in order to keep my mood as calm as poss xxxxxxxxxxx

Hi Gerti, congrats! I'm new on here too and leaning on everyone for help. But everyone here are superb for support!

Thanks guys xxxxxxxxx
