I gave up for 3 months last time about 2 years ago, well I was on champix and I got very depressed and put on about 2 and half stone so I caved in and started again.
I have had a bad christmas really as my best friends mum died of lung cancer on christmas day and I have had a very bad cold and chest infection, the doctor gave me steroids and antibiotics but it has taken 2 weeks and I still feel bad!
So today is my birthday and I thought, I am not getting any younger so I had better start the new year the best way possible as a non smoker!
So here I go again, DAY 1 Wish me luck!!
Happy new year to you all. xxx

I have got to do it this time! This forum really helped me last time but I found that my downfall was in my head and not being addicted. I have got to get my head round it this time!
welcome back to the forum and happy birthday to you! I also quit on my birthday (lousy birthday it was) but it was the best gift I could have given myself and the same will be true for you. The road to freedom can be a tough one at times..... if things get tough, ask for support, read and learn about your addiction as knowledge is power, and stay strong in your resolve..... gaining weight is crap but for most of us it's part of the quit, in time, everything will normalize again (in the meantime if the weight goes up you can always join this fun and lovely group forum.nosmokingday.org.uk/s... ;))
Welcome to your day 1, Bev! You can do this! Bella
