First puff was 11... Going threes on one cig that we nicked from parents :/ started buying them with my dinner money when I was 14, on 20 a day by 18.... What an idiot x
I started smoking regularly when I was 15 years old, first grade of high school. I learned how to smoke before that, though.
It's sad, especially here in my country. On the first day of high school 2 people in my class were smoking. A year later 23 of 34 joined the smoking ranks
13, three of us went 3rd's on a 10 packet. One died 5 yrs later after developing MS, the other gave up around 6 yrs ago.
It's amazing all the no smoking adverts, and advice I feel are geared to adults, just maybe should be focusing education about not smoking to a much younger audience!,,

I read "We Children from Bahnhof Zoo" when I was around 12-13 years old and it helped me to stay out of heavy drugs. Never tried anything except pot.
Kids start smoking because they think they won't get hooked and if they do, they'll stop easily. We need more awareness of just how ADDICTIVE smoking is and treat it like other drugs. Threats of diseases that may occur 40 years down the line doesn't do the trick for most kids, in my opinion.
First puff at 11 years as someone had a fag and three of us shared it.
Full time smoker by age 13 buying fags with pocket/dinner money. My parents and siblings smoked (I have much older half brothers) and now my 16yr old son smokes which is disappointing, I will keep trying to get him to stop.
Perhaps the education, when aimed at teenagers (especially girls), should not bang on re the risks of cancer etc but concentrate more on the aesthetics. Stained teeth, sallow skin, smelly breath, (kissing:cool smelly clothes and a general thinning of the whole body skin as time goes by. Seems the majority are obsessed with body image and that may hit home rather than lecturing re statistics. Just a thought.
Totally agree, My word we all started smoking early. Shocking.

Exactly the same but 12 not 11.

My word, I do wonder if today's children start smoking so young, or do they go for a e- cig? I,m not sure !
I was around 13/14 didn't smoke regularly in the beginning just the occasional puff here & there,it wasn't till 15/16 that I would class myself as a smoker at that point I was buying them with my best friend & rather than having a few puffs of someone else's. I regret ever starting but it's happened & now at 42,I finally become free of something I didn't sign up to become 🙂 X
