I've been reading all your inspiring stories today and it gives me a warm cuddly feeling
No Smoking Day was 4 weeks ago today and I hope we have managed to help loads of people quit. How many of you did quit on No Smoking Day?
I'd love to know more about why you quit and how can we help you further. I don't need to tell you that the forum is a great way to get support - you are here already. Did you know that we have a facebook application too? It is a way of getting all your family and friends involved in support you and an opportunity to encourage them to quit with you. If you are interested, check it out here facebook.wequit.co.uk/

I quit on non-smoking day and have been smoke free for 29 days (I think?!)
Using patches and the inhaltor - have had up days and down days but haven't yet been tempted back to it, so all is good!
This forum has been great support and I've enjoyed chatting to others who have been able to sympathise, celebrate and generally remind me on occasions that I have not been going mad
Hi Super Mod, I didnt quit on no smoking day but I did quit christmas day so thought would come and say thanks for the site.
It is the best quit building tool we have to keep our quits strong and true so a big thank you from every one on the site, dont feel lonely come and chat to us on other threads x

Fantastic news Vicstar! Quitting smoking will always have highs and lows (I know I quit four years ago) but i'm so glad that you have finding the support I know this wonderful forum has.
It is amazing to hear your stories so please keep them coming.

Hey Jamangie,
Thanks for your vote of support. Any day is a good day to stop, so pleased you are using the site. I will definitely come back and visit now that the 2010 campaign is over. Not sure how many of you know this, the charity is really small - only four of us so all hands were on deck between Jan and March.
I didn't realise just how much of an impact this forum can have with regard to helping your quit. I came on here because i was so scared about quitting and then failing, after reading several posts it just looked like a very supportive community on here and i have to say it has helped me enormously to stay quit.
Whenever i got a bad crave i would reach for this forum and know support would be there on tap. It's great. Thank you.
Would i like to tell my story to the media? yes love to.

Hello,
If i am honest i didnt know it was "non smoking day" until i was out and about and funny enough i had it in my mind that day to buy some patches!! So as i went into Asda's i was approached by a lady promoting this day who gave me some information. I then went in and brought some patches as they were on offer.
That evening i found this site (thankyou) and after reading for a while i joined, asked for advice and here i still am FOUR WEEKS LATER!! Smoked my last ciggie at 10:30pm that night and have not looked back. I know technically i did smoke on that day, but least i can say it was my last day as a smoker
I have had numerous attempts at giving up before, but something in my mind has clicked this time... maybe the medical reasons i have and definately the amount of money i spent on smoking.
Thankyou for this site, it has been a life saver... when ever i feel i am going to crumble... i come on here and get extremely good advice, that has taken me down the right road to beat this!!

Hi Super Mod
It was my first NSD not smoking (does that count?) and it felt great!
The site is fantastic. This forum has not only given me the final shove I needed to quit, the support since has been fantastic. A huge thank you
Btw - I was a moderator on a council forum for schoolchildren.

You are doing a grand job – thanks.
Staying strong together
Yes it does count! We are so happy that so many of you are on here and find the support of the forum one of the best things to happen. We all know that quitting is not easy and staying quit is even harder. Be strong and be helpful to others on the forum too.
I'm feeling very emotional now and want to say 'lots of love' so apologies if that is too much for you at this time in the morning!
