I'm new to these forums and would appreciate any help advice. I've had a look around and believe this is where I start (Day 1). Well I'm smoke-free since 11.30pm last night today is my 14th day on Champix. Tried them before but they sent me loopy but seem OK now, well as OK as I can be lol. I've tried countless times to quit before, patches, gum, vapes, (all 3 and more at once as well) but I still managed to smoke as well.
I was admitted to hospital 3 years ago with pneumonia and diagnosed with COPD - I quit for 6 months then (scared to smoke) but as soon as I felt better and had a drink at christmas I brought a packet of fags and whoosh I was hooked again. I can't climb a flight of stairs without gasping for air, my quality of life could be so much better if I can kick this damn rotten habit
Thankyou for reading ...

Hi Yvonne, welcome to the forum. Yes you're on day 1 I would say, so well done for that
I haven't used any NRT yet, fortunately so far I haven't had to but I can vouch for the power of this forum. Stick to it like glue, get involved in the banter and feel free to offer support to others. Just because you're on day 1 doesn't mean you don't have experience that might help, as you say, you've quit before.
I am early stage of my second quit attempt, you see I was not using the forum as I should of been, and just maybe if I ad asked for help, these lovely people would have come to my aid to get me through the night.
The collective knowledge on here is fantastic, so read and post as often as you wish.
I am determined to quit, but I do need the forum, it helps me.
I can third (or fourth?) what has already been said about the forum. Whatever stage of quit we're at we're all in the same boat and there ain't anything new under the sun. You'll get gallons of advice, support and companionship here whenever you feel the need.
Sounds like you have every reason to make this your successful forever quit and I for one shall be cheering you on.
Welcome Yvonne, I took the Champix route and found it to be the right way for me...looking forward to your posts...try and revel in the fact you're quitting and enjoy it
