Morning all, Day 21 for me and can't believe I'm here.Thought this quit would go the same as all the others, but this time I'm so determined and Max,s
"Smoking is not an option" is my motto now,as long as I rule that out I have to just get on with it
I stated on low dose patches and my confession is I stopped using ALL NRT 5days ago.
I was just irritated with the patches and knew with my previous track record you guys might try and advise me against it.
So I'm on 5th day cold turkey and feel really proud of myself. For me the quicker I get the nic out my system the better it suits me and I,m doing fine....up til now.
Hope all my fellow quitters are good and will check back with you all later
#happy days

Very well done on getting to day 21! Especially well done on ditching the patches. I think you are right about getting the nicotine out as soon as possible , but everyone is different and we should all do what is right for our quit
Carole, I can identify with that because I did the same (though a little later in my quit that you). In my case, it was partly because the patches kept falling off anyway and partly because like you, for whatever reason it became psychologically important for my quit for me to get the nicotine out of my system as soon as I felt it was doable. I gave up on the patches after three weeks, used the low strength mini-lozenges for a further week and then gave up on them too.
If you've been fine for 5 days I'd say you'll be fine for the duration. However, as Gemma says, do have something on you just in case (I still carry the lozenges with me).
21 day quit and now no patches, well done of course you can do it.
Everyone has to do it the way best for them. I knew that patches, e cigs etc. would just give me something else to quit. Decided that it was best to get the nicotine out of my system totally asap.
Have used the odd 1.5 mg Niquitin mini lozenges as fallback, and they taste nice
You are obviously a very determined lady, and this will work for you I'm sure. "Smoking is not an option", love it.
Way to go! Everyone has their own ideas about the best way to quit, and I'm no different. I'm a CT afficianado through and through. I don't see it as hardcore, but rather just embracing the result I'm after. Sure it's difficult, but how many people here would honestly say that quitting was easy, no matter which method they chose? Go for it, the water is good! In times of stress, it helps me to view going nicotine free AS my fall back option. I tried smoking and it didn't work out, so I'm falling back to something I know works... saying no to Nic period. The delivery system is just window dressing. Keep at it and sooner than you think, (but admittedly not as soon as you'd like), you'll be happy as a clam.
Disclaimer: I know this a touchy subject. This is all just my opinion and I by no means intend to suggest that anyone's approach is incorrect for them. If it works, do it.

I agree whatever gets you through:),but I'm now of the belief the nrt firms want and need to keep us on nic therapy, and you have to stop in the end!didnt like how it made me feel tbh and today has been my best day yet
