I have a confession to make

I was smoking again on Saturday (I don't know what it is with me and weekends!). I think I'm going to go back to Day 1, same as Sara did. It's only fair. One blip is just a blip but two blips is taking the piss! So my new quit date is Sunday 27th January.

Hey a blip is a blip, as long as you take it in the right context and learn what went wrong.

Reset your quit day and give it another go.

All the best

:)

Bless you - it is hard not to smoke when alcohol is around. I don't think you need to move to a different day/week though, there are no set rules. Just stay where you can chat to people who make you feel comfortable.

Good effort for trying to quit straight away again. Just a tip though...when I stopped, I went without caffiene and alcohol for the first few weeks. Although it is hard, it makes not smoking a lot easier (just a bummer for your social life) as you are taking away a couple of the things that you associate with smoking!!

Thanks Sutty, I gave up caffeine and alcohol for three weeks when I quit on New Year's Day. I think if I had stayed off the alcohol I probably wouldn't have had the first blip. Even now I can't say that I won't have another blip. I know I can easily go all week without smoking, maybe even two or three weeks but on my next night out I'll probably end up thinking "sod it, I'll have one" again. I think in a way because I find it so easy to go without cigarettes, when I'm drinking I don't worry about having a few cause I know I can just give them up again the next day. Stupid really! I have to sort it out though because soon enough the occasional few cigarettes is going to turn back into smoking every day and I definitely don't want that!

It's so easy to think like this when you're out. You have to tell yourself that it's not just one or two, it's x number everyday. That's the choice - all or nothing. But how hard is it to convince yourself of that when you've had a few drinks??

Congrats on starting again - good luck. x

Hugs SSS x x x x

It is such a shame to ourselves but the reality is you have still not smoked a lot of cigarettes and have come a long way!!

Only go to day1 if it is going to help YOU! if counting it as a blip means you still have confidence in yourself then count it as a blip!

But never forget it happened and learn from it and remember in time that it may of set you back a bit x x x
