    It sure does hun :)

I'm taking rhodiola liquid for mine - the tablets don't work so well but the liquid is fab, it's all natural but it stops you making so many stress hormones.

Tis good for quitting smoking as well, yay

Oooh and you deserve to be proud hun 'cos you're doing so well!!

  • Hi Princess,

Hurrah for you- a massive well done!! :D

I shall be joining you tomorrow (I'm counting calendar months) so please save a place for me :)

So glad you've booked some time away- Italy in Springtime will be wonderful I am sure. Look at it this way- if you can quit smoking you can do anything (including getting on that plane). Just make sure you treat yourself to lots of lovely things from the duty-free shop at the airport to take your mind off things.

  • Hi princess,

How wonderful you have done:), I notice in your post you suffer from panic and anxiety attacks. Have you noticed if they have got any better or worse since you have quit smoking, because smoking dose make them worse.

Do you use any techniques to calm them? I've suffered from them for years, and I know how unpleasant they are.

  • hi Beer,

I havent had one in quite a while, but I usually avoid the situations that make me panic! I have noticed that I have definately got alot better and Im not as stressed anymore.

When I am having a panic attack I usually go outside and get some fresh air and wait until I feel better. Im on medication for it which helps a heck of a lot. Before my medications I could barely leave my house without having a panic attack. Traffic Lights were my main enemy and waiting in ques, and really busy places

    xx

  • Thanks sir max!

I actually have a phobia of trains hehe. I can get on one, but as Im waiting for it to go I usually jump off! The thoughts of not being able to get off when I want and being trapped scares me. This is why im starting to worry about the flight. Makes me feel abit sick thinking about it actually.

I better take my mind off it....somehow!

Might see if my docs can up my dosage of meds. :-o

Glad you have got them under control mostly, I can relate to the ques that's a trigger for me,

  • ive been reasonably ok the past year which is when I started these tablets.

its only since ive booked Italy that im feeling the same sort of emotions. Im putting it down to excitement. But I cant help worry about this plane/ airport sceniario.

Think I might have to be sedated lol!

I also have the fear off not being able to get out when I want I start to shallow breath with out knowing it, that starts the flight or fear response in your body.

When I fly I allways have a few beers in the airport that helps a lot:D

  • I had to have an operation once and took lots of diazpam in hope it would help me get to the hospital (hospital is 35 min drive away) the doc said 4 tablets should knock me out but I took 6 and it had no affect.

Ive been online and looked at St Johns Wort and 5-htp. They have good reviews but I have to check that I can have them on top of the meds im on now.

Atleast I dont have to think crap I need to go for a fag whilst in the airport/ on the plane :D one less stress to worry about!

  • That's true!! :D

I think the suggestion to have some Dutch Courage before boarding the plane is a good one. If a champagne bar happens to hove into view I think you should treat yourself to a bottle. :D

  • Day 59

    Still here!

I forgot to put a patch on for 4 days, but ive started putting them on again.

Im on step 3 of the patches now and im not having any probs with them as yet.

Im still bricking it about the flight to italy in a few weeks, ive got an appointment with the docs to see what he can suggest

    hope u are all well

    xx

Don't worry about your trip you'll be fine and have a fab time!!

Glad you're still going well hun xx

  • I went to the pub yesterday and sat outside with the smokers.

I didnt have a fag, but i think that my brain is telling me this morning I want one. Maybe the passive smoking has set off my nicotine feelers in my brain.

    Gosh it feels irritable!

  • Aw Princess... :(

Those sneaky attacks can still take us unawares can't they?

The main thing is that the bad days are significantly fewer, the good days increasingly frequent and that you didn't smoke and don't intend to either. :)

Ah Princess thats rubbish :/ hope the feeling passes soon, just goes to show that swine Nic catches us unawares no matter where we are in the quit, really chuffed your at 3 months, good work indeed :)

  • thanks peeps,

13 days until Rome, I managed to get an increase on my anxiety meds prescription. Just got to actually get off my fat bum and get them!

Im remembering my Step 3 patches alot better now, but I dont find myself to have uncontrollable cravings without them.

Hope everyone else is doing ok xx

  • 13 days until Rome

I tell you what, I'm positively :D with envy. You must tell us all about it in great detail when you get back. Think of all the wonderful things you will see! Not to mention the wonderful food you will eat. :)

I'm sure you'll be fine once you start to do it Princess. The anxiety is all in the build-up. Just make sure you take the additional meds before Kat hits you over the head with something heavy. :)
