Well today I am no longer a teeny bopper when it comes to the quitting world of things.
Today is the day that marks my TWENTIETH day of being cigarette and nicotine free. At 8:30 PM tonight will mark my three week mark of not smoking. Three weeks from that time I had decided to make a life changing decision that I have not regretted for even a moment.
But it's not all about me today, no siree bob, today there are a lot of other special dates. Today marks the day where several people across the globe crushes out the cherry of their last cigarette and decides to join me on this journey of being cigarette free, to no longer be held underneath the slavery of Nicotine. For those people I have three words for you: WAY TO GO! We will be there with you every step of your journey. Please share this experience with all of us, it will not only help you get through the withdrawls and craves, but it also HELPS us, HELP you. And that is what we want.
Today is also means a lot to a lot of other people who have been on this journey for what seems like a very long time, doesn't it? Some people have made it to a week today, to two weeks, to three, to a month, to two months and more. Destroying one mile stone at a time and with that means destroying the habit forevermore.
SugarPuff,
I read that you had an epiphany of sorts. I have been reading from "behind the scenes" because sometimes I can only come on here and lurk because my time does not allow me to fully commit to sit here and write. That does not mean I am not here cheering YOU on and everybody else that has taken on this courageous journey to better ourselves. Today marks your 20th day as well, Brother, and you should be proud.
Your daughter is proud of you, everybody here is proud of you and it seems like you are finally getting over your slump and becoming proud of yourself right along with us and I find this to be OUTSTANDING.
You are finally coming around and realizing that you have an IRON GRIP on this thing and the only person who can stop you now is....Yourself. That's it. And you aren't. I can tell you that now because I have been reading your posts day after day. You're strong, your will power is strong and nothing, not even nicotine, can take that away from you. HOO-RAH!
To everybody who is just starting their quits and to all the "established" quitters. Keep on putting up the good fight. We were not born with nicotine in our systems, the doctors do not hand out packs of cigarettes with every new baby that is born, it's not natural, it's not healthy and the sad thing is?
It's the fact that man kind that puts all those chemicals into cigarettes that make it so poisonous and addictive. We have literally made a multi billion dollar industry by poisoning ourselves and others around us. I refuse to support them by giving them my money so they can take it and help kill other people around the world. That is what motivates me. That is what keeps me going. Saying "NO" is a lot easier than going into a gas station, forking over your hard earned money and smoking.
Love you guys. Keep going strong!
