I'm still on Champix and apart from the world feeling like it shifts slightly if I move my head too quick, I've got away without any severe side effects and as far as I'm concerned, it's a wonder drug! I'm not completely without cravings but they are short and easy to overcome with the odd sherbert lemon. My raging appetite has decreased to slightly more normal levels now too so that's good.
This weekend was going to be a big challenge for me, I was having as night out with the girls (2 other smokers I'm always nipping outside with) followed by a work networking event where I was giving my first ever demonstration to around 25 other people in my field (including one quite famous idol of mine). I was very very nervous but I got through it without a fag and then was able to enjoy sitting through dinner with someone who I desperately want to work with - without ever having to worry about her smelling the smoke on me - a HUGE no-no in my industry!
I've also found out that I've been nominated for an award for work so I'll have a frock to get into in a few months - better lay off the chocolate!
Hope all the other January quitters are doing well!
I should be getting a new laptop this week so hopefully will be able to get on here a bit more to lend my support properly! x

Wow Gemma, you've had a big weekend. Huge congratulations on your nomination. As the others have said that is a lot of triggers to face in one weekend and you should be very proud of yourself indeed.
Really well done Gemma that sounds like a hectic weekend but you did it so glad the cravings are minimal, plus it's nice to see you posting I have wondered where u were, us freedom fighters are steaming through this keep it up!xxx
I had a night out with some smokers and they where very interested in how I've found giving up, probably because they also want to quit but don't think they can.

Oooh that's good
Well, while i don't quite go along with "all smokers want to stop" any more, I do think most do so if you can show them it's doable and not that scary how fab would that be?
