Day 4 - Just Keep Swimming

First of all just wanted to say Hello and Congratulations to everyone in their various stages of The Final Quit.

I’ve been smoking about 15-20 a day for the last 9 years, and at the turn of this new year I was shocked to think that in just 365 days I would hit the double digits . Hench the thought of starting the quit set in. Although it wasn’t until I caught the lovely winter cold which for the first time completely took my breath away that I decided it was time to take back control of my own life.

The first 3 days have been full of ups and downs which only lead to a little cry this morning. Thought it was time to find people who are going through/been through this stage. Before this post I read through many of the previous post and feel so much support here it has changed my mood already. So thank you to everyone for helping get through the middle of what you call “Hell Week”.

Hello and welcome, Annabel :)

You've made the right decision, and you're doing REALLY well!

This place is awesome. So many supportive people.

We all know how you're feeling, so shout out whenever you need us.

Best wishes,

Steve

I decided it was time to take back control of my own life.

Always hang onto that thought Annabel!!

That's exactly what you're doing - as a smoker, no matter how much you dress it up, when you "need" a fag off you trot or you end up like a toddler throwing a tantrum. There's no choice there, actually it really restricts you 'cos you have to plan your life around smoking.

You are now (and I will be soon) free of all that - and when the "hell week" (good name btw) subsides, the feeling of freedom you will have is amazing :D
