I'm buzzing with myself that I've done four days werhooooo!!!!!!!!!!:) I've had a bit of a do with my chap aswell which wouldve had me reaching for the ciggies before but i'm just not going to do it. It's given me a bit of a headache with the craving but i'm fed up of not seeing things through. My family are giving me the welldones but I think they are thinking that here she goes again type thing but im feeling a bit stubborn and hoping to make them proud!(and of course myself). This forum is great, thats why I wanted to stop on no smoking day so that I would be doing this alongside many others. Having smoked for 20 years from the age of 15, I thought it was time especially since i've been on steroids twice this year with bronchitis. I have 2 kids under 5 who dont need me gasping especially since my son had chronic lung disease and was on oxygen for 3 years, I need to set an example. Thats my piece for today, hope i feel as strong tomorrow- i've found that going for walks has helped, need to keep busy!! All the best everybody with your mission xx:p

thanx Tracy21

well done to you too!!

I have nearly crumbled a few times especially day 1!! But i took it 5 minutes at a time and got through the day,now it just seems like i've done too much to give in now. Its mad aswell because i can smell smoke strongly on other people whereas before i couldnt and i wonder did i smell like that... yes!!

Keep it up there has to be one time we try to stop and it will work, with a bit of strength!! ;)

Day 5 now werhoooooooooooo!!!!

Thanx mags you are truly inspirational!!

I went on the sites you mentioned, powerful stuff. It is so heartbreaking listening to the stories of people who havent made it, I just dont want to leave my kids early through cigs. I have had the hardest week with my partner I think i'm re-evaluating my life in more ways than one. I have really surprised myself at how i've just not given in especially since i didnt tell anyone i was going to do it. I think thats just because i have told people b4 and i have failed, and when i told my family they werent really enthusiastic probably cos they think yea yea we've heard it all before!

I've just tried to keep myself busy all day been gardening manically, which i never do the garden looks ace, not good picking up a dead mouse thinking it was a clump of mud though lol!! xx Thanx for the support everyone xx:D

Hi angela, well done on day 5, you are doing fantastic and keeping busy does seem to help loads.

Ive just got to the end of day 5 and feel really positive with little ones it can feel difficult to change habits when the days revolve around the same things.

well done and look forward to reading your posts and stay positive!

Well Done ALL ON DAY 4 & 5!!:D

I should be... but have taken myself back to day 2 cos I had a few puffs :o (day 3).

Got to say I spent the day working in the garden too. I think a lovely day like today really lifts you mood & makes it seem easier! Also I started on 2mg gum today I think it's helped a lot:). I was trying cold turkey but found it very hard going.

Hope tomorrow at work isn't too bad!! :(
