The first is quite brutal - if I don't stop, smoking will kill me in a horrible, painful way that I will have spent £1000s facilitating - this is madness, and I am not mad
The second - If I stop smoking I can afford a telescope, even if I do only use it once and then leave it in a cupboard, it will still be cheaper and less harmful than smoking
The third - I am fed up of punctuating my life by when I can have a ciggie - to the point where I might be eating the best meal, in the best restaurant EVER and I'm treating the various courses as an interlude between cigarettes, and will enjoy any social experience LESS if I can't break away to feed the Demon - enough of that.
