Hi, Ive successfully completed 3 days on patches. I seem to be ok in the week but I really struggle on weekends. Ive been with my partner for almost 2 months and he doesnt know that i smoked. So far Ive done really well in stopping.
Patches are soooo itchy, does anyone else get the itches from patches?

I think this is great, I cant talk to my parents or my other half about quitting because they are not meant to know i smoked in the first place. I smoked for 11 years So its great to find a community to talk to.

Hi Magicbunny, and well done on doing 3 days!
I was a secret smoker for years too, so know what you mean
Was on patches and they did itch not too bad and it did get better!! Do make sure you don't use the same place again for a week 'cos that can irritate your skin.
One thing I would say is to make sure you take them off at night 'cos after a while they gave me really scary dreams and very poor sleep - if you think about it you didn't smoke in your sleep so you shouldn't need it then anyway!! Just pop it on when you wake up and it's fine
Im having a problem hiding the red patch of skin after peeling off the nicotine patch. I tried putting one under my sock the 2nd day so that my BF wouldnt see the mark left hehehehe
He asked what the red mark on my arm was and I told him that me and my friend were playing with waxing strips at work in the office and its irriatated my skin!

I put mine below where my bra sits, and on my sides, didn't want the red marks showing on my arms and that worked well
I'm on day 4 too and struggle with weekend but i'm staying from alcohol and will get through this weekend no probs! I'll just keep reading to keep my mind in the right place!
Glad you're found an explanation for the patch, that's one less thing for you to worry about
weekends are the worst. At work im not supposed to sneak off for a ciggy and theres plenty to keep my mind off it. I find hanging around non smokers and their children quite good to keep my mind off it. I try and keep away from smokers on the weekend as I start craving super badly
To succeed in your early quit yes, avoid smokers if possible sounds obvious but its important to remove temptation..After a while,a week to 3 weeks you begin to appreciate how much smokers STINK and wish to avoid smelling like that, keep at it never give up this journey and we will support you all the way
