Hi guys,

I am new here today. I am quitting smoking for the last time. I have a tendency to give up giving up after a week or so. My plan this time is to exercise every time I feel a craving (when at home, I can't start doing squats at work!) I hope this plan works and makes me fitter at the same time. I wonder if anybody thinks this is a good / bad idea or whether they have any craving beating suggestions?

I look forward to hearing from you

Emma

Hi Emma,

Day 1 for me too. I think exercise is an excellent idea. I am using a bottle of water to help me today. Whenever I feel a crave I sip my water. :)

Welcome Emma and timetolive, great to see you!

Yep, I'd say water, anything fat/sugar-free, fruit and veg, exercise... all good. And all of which I totally ignored, and I'm now nearly a stone heavier  so that's next on my list, easy peasy. I blame my mother-in-law, it can't be my fault so may as well be hers :D

Stay strong and all the best for your quit!

Emma

A very warm welcome to the Forum. I wish you all the very best as you embark on your quit journey.

Yes, excercise is good, my beautiful lab is enjoying all the extra walks!

Drinking lots of water, and or grapefruit helped me too, as I found grapefruit juice didnt exactly go hand in hand with a cig.

And, please don't look too far ahead, baby, baby steps!
