This has been a very, very tough week. I have worked hard to try and establish (or at least begin to establish) a new routine sans the stinky things!
As if that wasn't enough, I was given a think-intensive piece of work to complete at work. The synapses in my brain went mad. In the past, whenever I had to think, research and write, I did so with a fag, or two.
In fact, a major reason I lost my previous quit was that even after two months, I could not concentrate.
Anyway, I grit my teeth and faced my fear head on. I completed the piece last night and sent it in, so I am really quite chuffed with myself. Of course having gone through a week of gritting teeth and bum on seat, I then just wanted a bottle of vino and a packet of 20 to celebrate.
It seems like I just can't win!
Still, I am aware that every time I get over a major Hurdle like that I am getting stronger. I am fully aware of the illusion of smoking and I never ever want to smoke again. Ever! I just wish I could convince all those dark recesses in my brain that are clinging on!

I did the same in Jan 2012, but lasted three months then failed. I think packing in the weed must be a process of attempts for some (me). The experiences from previous attempts support the present one until in the end we have success. I must admit I am a lot more relaxed and accepting this final "no smoking" session. Going out for a pint with friends this afternoon - not worried; got some PC research to do for work - bring it on (was a big problem in past eg would smoke 10 in a couple of hours).
After 13 days my chest is clearing, my tongue is not covered in crap and I feel great. My biggest problem is holding back with the exercise and training sessions because I have so much oxygen in my body now. I don't want to replace nicotine with adrenalin - which I have done in the past!!
Was out shopping yesterday and could smell a smoker from 50 paces. Smells like crap having a crap!!
Dicko, thanks the thumbs up. Dealing with triggers head on is the only way! And your reply really made me laugh: Smokers smell like crap having a crap? LOL Yep! You bet!
Wooders, thanks so much - you doing fab too and you are so right, cravings just disperse into jnothing so quickly now!
Max, definitely not my hand raised! Thanks so much matey! I am very proud!
