Well I am 5 hrs away from a complete week of being totally smoke free. I have to admit it wasn't easy but it wasn't anything I couldn't handle either. I am so pleased the first week is over as I think that's the worst one. Week 2 here I come
Day 7: Well I am 5 hrs away from a complete... - No Smoking Day
Day 7
Well done to you too. Hope week 2 is easier, don't think I can handle anymore housework
I am eating so much rubbish  I am afraid to even get on the scales
But better than the alliterative, and will probably only last another week or two (i hope)
Tell me about it, I have locked myself in the bedroom to keep me away from the fridge . I will have to buy lots of fruit tomorrow and keep away from sweeties
Lol....
The Mrs got a load of fruit for me, but I've just had this mad craving for fish finger sandwiches and crackers with cheese
Hopefully not together . Every time I go near the fridge, he just rolls his eyes ha ha. If I end up with a lard ass so be it, I will diet when the no smoking is under control
Well done, really hope I get to this stage (day4 today) I been eating bagels and cheese and new craving is porridge (never liked it before)
Well done Pll86 Keep up the good work, week 1 is is coming to an end
Congratulations Shojam and Salmoney...week one was evil for me. So bloody well done for getting through it. You can't let me down now.

Well done and dont worry about the eating - that can be dealt with later on
Thanks Lisa
So you are off them 4 months (very well done)? Do you still get cravings?
Yes I'm into my fifth month quit now...bloody hell, I can't quite believe it!
I get cravings so infrequently now..most of the time is's more like I fancy a cigarette from time to time, it's easily and quickly forgotten about though. Sometimes I'll come across a situation I haven't been through since quitting (say an infrequent meeting with the boss or have to give a presentation)...this is where the nicotine monster rears his horrid head and makes you want to smoke the most...As you get through these situations though they get easier to cope with without wanting to reach for a cigarette first. I've really wanted to smoke through bereavement and through losing my job but now I've got through those without smoking I know I won't smoke again. It does get easier but it is hard. You just have to be stubborn and dig your heels in until it relents a bit. For me it's 100 times easier than that first week... Congrats and day by day, step by step it will get better...and when you have testing times...well like I say grit the bit with your teeth and get on with it WITHOUT smoking. We will all get tested through our quits but the important thing to realise is situations will not be made better by smoking and will actually make you feel 110 times worse cos you've failed in your quit. Trust me when I say that further on down the line it gets better.

Mash x:cool:
You have a wonderful way with words Mash :eek:Lol
Well done guys. A big pat on the back (or glass of wine) is deserved for us all I think. I'm approaching the 7 day mark in a few hours too- very pleased with myself. Today was probably the toughest day for me, largely due to the fact that I was at home most of the day cleaning etc. instead of rewarding myself with a cigarette, I sat with a cup of tea and enjoyed the little bit of sunshine that we had!!
Also, i have to say I have noticed a big difference in my energy levels. I even walked to and from school today instead of taking the car!! So the kids are benefiting from the exercise too!! My skin is looking better already and I am feeling much more confident and liberated!! Should have done this ages ago!! I feel like this time, I have no intention of going back- its not even an option!!
To those who are struggling today, keep it up. There are so so many benefits to quitting the disgusting habit. It really is life changing.
