Been a little bit of a struggle today, had dentist app for a filling, hate dentist but got through it & strangely found i wasn't as tense as other visits, so it must be right that smoking causes anxiety.
Really want to succeed at this so will tackle this head on & get on with my day.
Lots of luck everyone

Well done on deciding to quit Fluff. I smoked for 40 years too and yesterday was 11 months quit. This forum has been my life saver. Keep it going and you wont regret it that is for sure.
Loads of my family are dentists- sis, daughter, nephew and cousin, and a couple of second cousins. I've never minded going even when we didn't have one in the family. I dunno how any of them do it though. Yuck, raking round some of the smelly mouths they must see.
I think you are right about smoking making you anxious.I'm much more laid back now I don't smoke. I think it teaches you to be tense and nervy as you are always trying to cater for, and make sure you get, the next fix.
My Dentist is lovely, wont go see anyone else. It was strange today, i woke up anxious with cravings but told myself that having a fag wont change the fact i have to go & have a filling! I found that i was so calm when there & she noticed it too.
This site really helps you make sense of the way you feel about everything & puts it all into perspective.
