Day 7 - Proving to be a toughy

OK, 1st off I'm not going to fail! No way never.

Cravings have been much more frequent since waking up today  got a weird kind of headache and feeling in my finger tips.

Popped to the bookshop and bought Allen Carr's book, read a bit (Quiet day at work and I'm the boss :p ) and I'll carry on this evening. Got to the bit which said that you shouldn't quit before finishing the book and immediately thought "perhaps ought to start again while I read the book" (junkie thinking!) however next page it said something like if you have already stopped don't start again, phew!

Very interesting book, so far.

Feeling better now, I've written this.

Cheers

Nic

Hi Nic - when you say you got peculiar feeling in fingertips was it like a pins and needles type thing. If so, I got that when I stopped, can't remember exactly when but it did feel like that.

Glad you are feeling better now:)

Congratulations on your quit Nic

I quit after reading Allen Carr and also listened to the Audio version over and over again on the way to work for the first 2 months.

I dont think anyone quite feels themself (that sounds a bit wrong) when they first quit but it soon passes and the benefits start to kick in. For example, I had an awful cough every morning for years that has long gone and I was forever trying to catch my breath. Guess what,....... I caught it and it aint running away again.

You sound really positive. I think thats half the battle won

Good luck

Yeah, a bit like pins and needles but more tingly.

I've got a martial arts class later. It'll be good to hit someone tonight. :D:D:D

Well that's one way of getting rid of your agression (glad I'm not on the other end of it. hehehe)

Just keep at it, Nic.

I don't think there is anyone on here who hasn't struggled at some point, whether it's early in the quit or later on.

Just keep reminding yourself why you are doing this. I know that I have said this several times to newbies but when I stopped last November I literally stashed away £20.00 a week. I am lucky that I can do it but in truth I spent far more than that on cigarettes. Get yourself a little pot (figuratively speaking!) and put the price of at least one pack of cigs in there a week. Soon you'll be counting it like Scrooge and then go on and treat yourself!! - We had 4 days in Portugal!

We're all consenting adults ;) and we don't hit hard, well not really. Besides I'm liable to get hit every bit as much myself. But still a good way of blasting through the blues.

Cheers Nic

Brownies anyone ;):p
