I could sleep on a bed of nails at the moment.

Today I got up had my usual 20 cups of tea, got in the shower, went to see my physio, picked up my prescription, came home and went back to bed. I didnt get up again until quarter past seven. Im like this every day, some days I fight it but Im yawning for most of the day.

I really think Im sleeping through this quit. I thought with the extra oxygen my body is getting that I would get more lively but Im not. I'll be honest I like my bed, love it in fact but I dont think this is right.

Ive got a checkup at the copd clinic next week so I'll ask there as the help2quit nurse is not good for getting informaton out of.

Hi Lillie,

Quitting is totally exhausting and draining in the first few weeks, so it could be that. But as you said, it is wise to check at the clinic if you are worried. I have gone to the other extreme at the moment and am not sleeping well at all;)

Oh well, at least we are smoke free and doing great:D

Hi Lillie,

As a fellow bed lover I can understand where you are coming from. I am so shattered that when I am not at work I am asleep which really bugs me at weekends. It all seems to be all work and sleep and NO LIFE at the moment. That was before I quit so cannot blame it on that lol.

I have moderate copd also and was given a preventative inhalor when I had my check up a month ago. This after being asked if I had one to which I replied I didn't know there was one  Nobody had mentioned it in the years I have been going. It has helped enormously. I feel a lot less exhausted and my breathing is much easier. I don't know if this would be of help to you if you do not have one.

My husband has a preventative inhaler for his asthma (called symbicort)...it has steroids in it which kinda make the lungs stronger over time and can therefore deal with an attack better and even ward them off. Wonder if it's similar.

Hey, just found this LOL! looks like it does help COPD.

Sorry for butting in on a thread too

Hiya,

I had a ventolin inhalor which I rarely used as I never felt like it was doing anything. The preventative one has Serevent Evohaler on the box. The pharmasist label says Salmeterol. Having a quick read it contains Salmeterol. As I said it has really helped me so might be worth asking if it is suitable for you?

I LOVE to sleep too and since quitting even more so. I also think the change of season, less light etc. affects us too.

It won't hurt to see your doctor if you feel its not right.

Take care Lillie.
