Day 13 and struggling now

Yep its day 13 and feels forever since I a, had a decent nights sleep and b, had any energy to do anything! Had quite a few craves yesterday, and felt absolutely drained and exhausted even though it was a weekend day. Really, I have no energy to do anything. I really wanted something to perk me up, coffee doesn't seem to do it. Also, feeling really sickly if I did do anything strenous. Today I am mad, mad, mad with PC world who are reneging on their agrreement to fix my laptop which I have been paying them for for 4 years. Sorry for ranting. I know in reality having a cigarette would not make me feel less angry but I am still finding it hard, in fact I seem to be getting even more tired and sicker as it goes on

13 days is amazing!

You want to get past 2 weeks, I'm sure.

Don't let PC World tip you over the edge!!

You're doing so well.

Read through some of the newbies' posts on here - remind yourself how alwful you feel in those first few days.

Your energy will return, I'm sure.

How are you with exercise?

I did none prior to quitting but have slowly made a start and now really enjoy just a slow run or a swim. It's a good feeling filling your lungs with fresh clean air. It could help you and you'll be amazed how quickly you can improve.

Stick at it. I really wish I could do or say more - I felt the same on Saturday (funnily enough Day 13 for me then too). Just don't give in and see how proud you'll feel of yourself tomorrow xx

Hi Jo,

I am only in Day 11 and I don't have much energy either:( I am a bit better at getting out of bed in the mornings, and going for walks but thats about it. I can't do my housework and my home looks like a tip. But I don't really care cos my quit is the most important thing to me right now. I feel exhausted too but not surprised really as the stress of giving up smoking is really quite horrendous:eek: I could hardly move for the first two days. Still get some craves but I am learning to accept them now and they are no longer overwhelming. I am so glad I am not smoking:D

So enjoy your quit and take care,

Zoe

JoC

Ohh I know the feeling. I had this morning problems with my laptop and I normally go into a pc rage and would normally smoke twice as much. If you can, step away and breath, a little walk or do something completly different that takes your mind off.

No energy, I am still looking for my engergy. It does get better , but I am not feeling it yet. I been sleeping a lot and just came out of some sort of hibernation . All I can suggest , take care of yourself for time being and

do what makes you feel best, it will get easier .

My place looks like a tip, anyone have enough energy to do the cleaning for me hehehehehehhehehe

You doing sooooooo well, keep going JoC :D

Thanks for your replies. Yes, today has been my worst day yet but I'm still sticking in there. I guess a lot has to do with my fury at PC world which is testing me. Of course I can remember being mad before and smoking certainly didn't make me less mad (although I haven't been this angry for a while so I'm thinking quitting smoking makes it harder to cope in the short term). I've got a splitting headache and was so tempted by the packs of cigs in the shop at lunchtime .... but I bought some chewing gum insted. I've chewed my way through a whole pack this afternoon. Can't seem to settle :(

Had a lot of craves last couple of days too. Normally I sit about in a Champix induced sort of daze. Am I getting imune to Champix ? Or is it Nicodemon's last ditch attempts to win me back? ;)

Hi Jo,

On my first quit attempt I broke it through losing my temper with my computer and gave myself a really bad headache too. Won't do that again, will just switch the damn thing off:D

I have been feeling as if I am getting immune to Champix, I missed one out yesterday and ended up with niggly cravings but not unmamageable. Still miss the stoned feeling they gave me in the beginning though:D But 11 days in I think what is the point of smoking now? It would feel like my first fag ever - I would feel sick and dizzy and I know I would hate it.

So hang on in there Jo, it is worth it.

Hi Jo

Just remember that these battles only make us stronger. Don't think that immunity to Champix is likely, but I have noticed that occassionally, the "mist" seems to clear a bit which leaves me more vulnerable to craves. It does get better over time, though.

Just hang on in there. The rewards will come.

Do one thing .after getting up

in the morning get some light running,
