Starting week three and I almost didn't notice!

Ok, so the beginning of week three is, strictly speaking, the same as the end of week two. But I am the kind of person who opens all of their cards and presents early because I am impatient. :p

So, week three, here I am!

I've been pretty OK to be honest - I've found Champix to be a much easier ride than previous attempts, so it is the right thing for me. I have an appointment with the NHS woman tomorrow, and hopefully I'll blow zero into the Carbon Monoxide Machine, but city living might mean not quite.

OH is due to give up this Friday (he is also on Champix) and it gets even better than that... his kids are here for the weekend. Now two sulky, untidy, short-tempered and irritable excuses for human beings and the kids too all in one house could get interesting! If anyone knows of a good way to persuade the boys that they want to stay with their grandparents, please do let me know!

(Just kidding, I love them really!) ;)

And congrats to everyone else who got here before me or just after me!

Oh, me too!

Big congrats to you for reaching week 3. No mean feat

Stay strong and positive ... the journey just gets easier and better from herein.

All the best for your continuing quit :)

Well done Cathy

You are doing really well. Good luck to your OH as well.

Well done Cathy and partner!

The kids will be impressed with you both and I bet they'll be considerate of your stress!

One of my reasons to quit was to give a better example to mine, about not smoking and about having strength of character enough to quit....mind you, my youngest (6) asked me yesterday if I'd given up yet!!! DoH!!!!:)

Enjoy the weekend!

Thank you all for your support!

I got "2" on the Carbon Monoxide Machine this afternoon - blowing zero would, apparently, necessitate a move away from the city. Meh! Still, better than the 34 a month ago when I first had a go!

Ahahah! Bless! If either of the boys don't notice that we have quit, there will be hell to pay! ;)

..... But don't forget to allow for the fact that boys are naturally selfish and uncaring. My "boys" (both in their twenties) have been entirely unimpressed and disinterested in the journey being made by myself and poor Mr T.

Well done, though, Cathy.

Thank you, Mrs T - a useful perspective to remember! And well done to you too! :)

Boys are interesting things. I suspect the older one (15) has tried smoking because I asked him to light me one a while back and he almost forgot to look confused, if you know what I mean.

Smoking must smell disgusting to kids, though. It smells pretty nasty to me after two weeks, so it must be horrible for kids that aren't used to it (and doing no good to kids that are used to it!).

I shall continue to reward myself with my own recipe Lemon Drizzle Cake. The boys (OH included!) have the newly-released Star Wars Blu-Rays to watch this weekend so all is well in the world.

Lemon Drizzle Cake + Star Wars occupying the boys = Decent weekend

Thanks, guys!

We have now survived our first weekend as a smoke-free home... the kids had the good sense to stay well out of the way (a pleasant surprise!) and while I am on day 18, my OH is now on day 3 and doing ever so well.

It was probably a good idea that our quit dates were staggered by a couple of weeks - he is having a worse time than me but I think I would have struggled if he had been struggling at the same time as me.
