so this time im going to try my hardest to kick this filthy habit.

god knows what ill be like tomorrow as i dont think ill have any patches anywhere, i`d really like to go CT, but im scared ill start again, ( day 3 is always the killer for me)

  • Good luck and congrats on your quit. Dont think to far ahead just deal with the time your in. things will get better, Day three is hard because the nicotine is leaving the body just think about that and you know things will get easyer once its gone.xxxx

  • Hi Blackrose, i remember you, we quit on the same day. Only difference is i'm still quit :p and feeling tons and tons and tons better! Trust me it was tough that first week but still nowhere near as bad as child birth! If i can do it anyone can, seriously i can be so weak willed at times lol.

On the matter of dentists, you might find your gums bleed more when you quit. Lush.

  • Thanks Linda, i need all the encouragement i can get lol, how long have u been quit for?

Hiya fallen angel, congratulations on quitting and staying quit, i did look up on your page the other night and saw how well you`d done, how long has it been now? i just wish i`d have stuck at it. oh well im def gonna try this time lol.

its that day chuffing 3 that gets me every time. i have just found a packet of them micro tab thingys ( must have bought them on my last attempt lol) so ill use them tomorrow if i need them, would rather do CT but at least theyre there if i need them.

todays not been too bad actually, my little girls poorly, so ive been busy looking after her all day, glad i havent been smoking, coz she doesnt want to be breathing in my stale smoke when shes ill.

keep up the good work xx

    Rachel :)

  • Hi Rachel,

I was the same...a lecture from the dentist...but think I needed it as a kick up the arse to actually stop!

And yes, my gums have started bleeding every time I brush my teeth, but I put a call into my dentist and he seems to think its ok, and doesn't want to see me....just make sure you keep brushing!!

I'm now at Day 72...have been using gum and patches - mind you I have not had a patch on for the last two days, so am just using the gum.

Take one day at a time, it is a long and hard road as everyone on here will tell you, but I'm hoping I can kick this horrible habit!!

I get an enormous amount of encouragement and support from everyone on here too.

I hope you will remember your words when you even consider smoking again and also she doesnt want to be breathing in your smoke t any time does she.

You have the will power to do this and you obviously want to quit or you would not bother to keep trying, the days will turn into weeks and you will start to feel physically fitter and then you want wont to smoke again, take care and keep reminding yourself why you made the decision to become a none smoker and use it as your mantra x

  • Hi blackrose

well done on your day 1 over ... take each day at a time & wotever you expect from day 3 wont be quite as bad as you remember..before you know it you will have done a week

keep posting ..love to hear you :)

  • My god Jamangie u just scared the life out of me, highlighting that sentence lol. i know she never wants to be breathing in my smoke, so i dont know why i havent stopped earlier. I always smoke outside, but my partner smokes inside when theyre in bed, when i go up to check on them, i can smell it in their room even though he has the door shut, so ill have to be having words with him i thimk, ( not that he ever listens lol ).

Anyway, ive had a few strong cravings tonight, probably coz ive sat down now the kids are asleep. i had one of those losenge things and my god did it make me feel sick.

Thanks for all the advice guys x

  • Sooo you remembered me? i didn't know if you'd come back to try again or not, glad your back though and i have neaarly 100% faith in you, you just need a bit of a come on you can do this from all of us on here. ;)

If it makes you feel better, we ALL love/loved fagging are little lungs out as much as you and i tell you now if the world was about to end in 1 hours time i'd be off for a quick fag right now just for the sake of it. It takes alot of determination for at the least 1 week and you know you can do it.

    Here for you. :)

  • Hi Nicki, well done for getting to day 72, it seems such a long way away for me, but i need to do it, for my childrens health as well as mine.

I was soooo proud of myself getting to day 3 last time, so god know why i had one of those filthy little stick.

Have u gained any weight since stopping, im desperate to put weight on, so this might be the answer.

i think i`m gonna have sore fingers if i post something everytime i have a craving, but it will be worth it in the long run.

    thanks for the encouragement xxx

Hi Rachel, well I have gained weight, but I think I gained most of it before I gave up smoking...so I am determined not to gain anymore, although that;s hard too!

Everyone tells me to concentrate on one thing at a time, which I know is right, but I just don't want to balloon....and seeing as my willpower is so strong at the moment, I'm trying to do both!!

You say you are desparate to put weight on..well go for it, if it stops the cravings!!

Keep going, and don't worry about keep posting on here...it keeps me going most of the time!
