wow - insomnia started already! Had a terrible night (night 1) with really strange dreams of me and my boss in a london park being chased by hyenas and cheetas?:D

Am on patches so presumably these are to blame, or is it that I secretly want my boss to be attacked by wild animals?;)

Ahh last time i was on patches, i suffered really badly from the same thing!

I found i had to put a fresh patch on in the morning (so the nicotines almost gone out of it by the time you get to bed that night) lessens the nightmares!;)

give it a try

Morning

I had strange dreams too and i'm not on patches. My brain was wired all night trying to tell me to smoke.

I watched Shameless the other night, and I don't regulary watch it but it was when that weird woman got the ice-cream van and went to find her love which is that guy with long hair. Again, excuse my explanation, I have no idea of the names of the characters.

Anyway, that night, wearing my patch, amongst many dreams, I had one that I took an ice cream van street racing around my town.

The next night I again wore a patch and had major insomnia that caused me to take the following day off work.

Last night I didn't wear my "24hr" patch to bed. I slept fine and had no "vivid" dreams.

I suggest trying the same, however I did wake up craving very harshly this morning after a night with no patch so be warned.

Hi Vic :)

Sleeping probs are normal as are the weird dreams they will pass though if you're using 24 hr patches try leaving them off at night after all we don't smoke when asleep

Below is my standard welcome and advice post which I try and give all new members

Hi there,

Welcome to the forum, how long have you been quit for?

The dreams do subside & I have found taking my patch off before bed if you are using them helps. Also have started drinking herbal teas during the day. Have detox & revive ones when I am working, relaxing ones when I am not & a night time one in the evening. Hot baths, milky drinks, Kalms have all been tied here I think.

It will get better I promise :D

Call me strange....

Surely I'm not alone when I say the dreams were one of the highlights of my quit?

A few were good, many were freaky and some were damn right scary, but I enjoyed them all.

They lasted for less than a week though and then I think I just had a couple after quitting the patches completely.

Enjoy them while they last....

Fab dreams

Chris - I'm with you - some of my dreams have been great - well maybe a little weird.

Two nights ago I went to the bingo with Elton John! And last week I was married to David Cameron as well as my OH - could have been worse .....it could have been Gordon Brown
