Since I have quite cold turkey through willpower, there have been good times and some really bad times. And than after watching Alan Carr and reading his book, the only thing which works is not willpower, cause I know I could have had a relapse.
All that warnings on packs, those graphic advertisements most probably dont work cause the anti-smoking lobby and NHS is mostly focussing on the negatives. Its like telling a kid dont touch that,, you are sure the kid is gonna have double the motivation to touch that.
Here are 10 thoughts, that you can keep in mind,
1. Smoking has done nothing for me. If I had a car breakdown and had that fag, the car was still broken down.
2. Boredom - well i used to be a 10 -15 per day, so thats 5 minutes top for 1 ciggy, so thats 50 minutes to 75 minutes, 1 hour out of 24 hours,, well there goes that theory of I was not bored when I smoked.
3. Being sickly, colds that wouldnt go away.
4. Anxiety attacks late in night, I dont have fags, lets rush to the petrol station.
5. Dry skin - its much better now
6. Not being a slave to something, come how would it suck if someone always told you to do something even though u didnt want to do that.. thats smoking for you.. always being a slave to it.
7. Have you noticed how older you look, I look much older than people who havent smoked
8. You can work out and lose that fat, in my case, since i am into bodybuilding i have seen major gains. In your case, if you wanna lose weight, well its much easier now, dont worry about the fear of weight gain.
9. Nicer teeth and healthier gums, take care of those.
10. GETTING THE BEST SLEEP, I am sure smoking had an effect on my sleep cause there are times now when i take a nap and get up absolutely refreshed.
I could go on and on and I might have repeated these things before, but hey just wanna share what I am thinking.
Peace
Ryan
