Yup i have relapsed after nearly making it to 2 months quit:mad:

Been smoking for the past 5 days and already back onto 20 a day:eek:

I know silly me i only have myself to blame. But im not beating myself up to much about it.

I think it all started going downhill since my blip on the 13th of jan and after that it became a mind battle and just could not take my quit serious anymore after that. Silly thoughts like thinking of situations in the near future and thinking ohhhh ill never be able to get through it without smoking, so why not start smoking now and quit after:eek: (Crazy thinking i know)

No more blips for me next time because i know where that leads!!!

Really would like to say ill quit tomorrow but some issues are stoping me (1) my mind just keeps contradicting me. (2)fear of failure really dont want to quit smoking again to just relapse yet again.

My main trigger is i like smoking at work with my work mate.

But hate smoking at home on my own its just sooo boring. But still have to smoke the ones i dont want to stop the craves.

Grrrr such a shame i cant smoke just when i want to.

Yet i know deep down it would be even nicer not to have any disire to smoke.

Because its only a matter of time when ill get to that point again that ill get fed up of being a slave to the nicotine.

Sorry to hear that :(

You will quit again when you are ready. Took me 2 years and 1 mth to the day to get back on the wagon (not saying it will be that long for you) and I am doing much better this time as I am in the right head space for it.

Learn why you failed and store the knowledge for next time you quit.

Good luck to you mate.

When you do, hopefully we'll all still be here to encourage you. Give yourself some time, I'm sure you'll come back stronger next time x

Ah, I'm sorry to hear that. :( There must be a few potholes in the road at the moment as you're not the only one to have fallen off the wagon in the last few days :o

You'll quit again when you're ready. But you could maybe make it sooner rather than later if you just say to yourself every time you light up 'why do I want this?'. Rather than just blocking out the thoughts and smoking like an automaton, if you know what I mean.

Don't be downhearted. It can happen to anyone, it's happened to most of us at some point or another. Could still happen to any of us if we're not on our guard. You'll learn from it, and next time you'll be stronger.

Take care,

Helen x

Aww Ace

Really sorry to hear of your relapse:mad:

Hopefully you will give it another go when you are ready. Most people fail many times before finally quitting so don't be too hard on yourself.

Hopefully you will keep posting and be starting another social group real soon!!

Like you said, no point in beating yourself up about it.... Take a bit of time out and the wagon will be ready when you feel like jumping back on it :)

Hiya Ace, me old mucker :p

You're a bit of a serial quitter like me, but don't you worry, you never quit the quit and that's the main thing. :)

You need to be truly ready to do this for yourself Ace and want it 110%, no matter what.

Go out with your mate at work still but have a mint break instead of a cig break. I see where you are coming from you, many of my mates are smokers and sometimes I miss going out with them for that chat but then I think, how stupid I sound and how it's just Mr Nic trying to get me back on them.

Being around smokers now only seems to strengthen my resolve (although I understand that's not the same for everyone).

There will come a time Ace when nothing in life seems more important to you than to give up smoking, not future events, not cigs with work mates - none of that will matter as all you will want to do is successfully quit so you will care for and nurture your quit. When you have reached that point you will be successful in your quit and you will reach that penthouse. That's my opinion anyway as this is how I felt.

But hey - you do it when you're good and ready - you know the drill ;)

Good luck me matey and look forward to seing you around

Take care

Very sorry about that Ace, as you have been very encouraging to other quitters. No doubt will see you back on the forum in the not too distant future all fired up (no pun, etc) on your next and final quit.
