I quit smoking on the 16th febuary 2010 i smoked since i was 12 i am now 30 and since 18 i have smoked very heavy bout 40 a day!! im not sure at which point i actually decided to stop, had thought about it a few times but never actually tried. Ive got two kids and didnt even try to quit while i was pregnant :mad: In the last two years i have watched my mum and my aunt suffer terribly with there breathing both of whom quit smoking 2 years ago for health reasons but alot of damage was already done my mum has emphysema and both her and my aunt have recently had pneumonia and recurrent chest infections my mums been on constant antibiotics since christmas my aunts had 3 hospital stays in the last 6 months one of which was serious this all breaks my heart to watch so i dont want my kids to grow up and see me like that so ive quit fo good ( my dad quit 26 years ago at age 34 and hes as fit as a fiddle!!! and its cost me a fortune all these years :eek: everyone who comes in here should write down there reason for quitting and anytime they feel like giving in should read there own and others reasons for quitting!!!

Sorry to hear about your Mum and Aunt ..I would also like to say well done to you for quitting this horrible horrible addiction it can't be easy for you to see what your family are going through, but i admire you for taking the right decision to quit for you and your own immediate family, this will spare them as they get older watching you suffer ..so a huge huge well done to you and i hope this quit of your goes nice and easy and you sail through it ..wish you all the best Linz make sure you keep posting and let us all know how you are doing...
I am sorry to hear about your Mum & your Aunt. I have given up for health reasons & hope it is not too late for me. Smoking is like Russian Roulette I think, you never know which one is the one too many :mad:
