Well here it is day 7, when I stubbed my last cigarette out last Sunday I couldn't imagine getting here. Each day has been a huge achievement for all of us who have made it this far. I was really annoyed a few days ago, I told someone I work with I'd quit, when I said since Monday she laughed and said 'oh right' as if to say well that isn't very long, she's obviously never smoked and certainly doesn't realise that getting through day 1 is a big deal.
Yesterday was tough, I had a drink and dinner with a friend, oh how I'd have loved a ciggy too but I didn't thinking about it a lot more yesterday, drove past the garage on the way home looking longingly into the shop, fortunately it was closed.
Roll on week 2 and all your challenges

I think you've been really strong getting past the drink thing too! Alcohol is the one thing that makes me leap for the cigarettes, always has even before I actually became 'hooked' and a regular smoker, so obviously I was alread hooked while a 'casual' smoker then but alcohol isn't really part of my life and hasn't been for a couple of years I only really have a drink when on holiday now, and I can live without that too so hopefully won't need to hold back when being a little tiddly in future. Lol
Well done and yeah, getting past day one is a massive acheivment to us and also non smokers who have never smoked do my head in a bit cos they try to 'advise' you, how can they advise you when they've never been through it like? Ignore her and keep going, when you get through that 7 days you feel really proud don't you
real proud of u hun- nice one 1 week- think how many smokes u would have had in that week! U should be so proud!!
I am there with u- day 7, and buzzing!! Had a few tears and some v.angry moments- even today randomly got upset. my boyfriends been great (poor guy) but what a challenge!
Make sure u do something to celebrate bec, and keep on smiling.
Do u think we are over the worst? Do u think it will get easier from now on?

is week 1 the killer?
Hi Lauz
You should be proud too it's no small thing getting through week one and you're doing it ct! I'm off the inhalator now but still wearing a patch, husband reckons one of my patches has the equivalent nicotine to 50 cigs so as I had 2 weeks worth I've been cutting them in half lol.
To celebrate we're having a takeaway (well kinda to celebrate and kinda cos we've not got anything in for dinner lol). Glad your boyfriend has been there for you, it's tough cos with me I know I'm being shitty but can't seem to help it, especially in the mornings...
As for it getting easier I really hope it does, someone told me after 7 days it gets easier, someone else said 9 days and another told me after 3 weeks it gets harder as the novelty of quitting wears off... I would have thought it should get easier from here on in as you get less and less used to smoking... Although I'm expecting lots and lots of bumps along the way.
Hope you're feeling better now? Keep on buzzing :)*

I did ignore her!! What does she know eh! I have to be careful as I go to say non smokers, and then realise I'm one of those too now! My friend who's never smoked made me laugh, she compared it to if she had to give up tea... Bit different but I liked her sentiment
