I joined here last year but fell off the wagon I had another attempt in the summer but once again found myself drawn back to the evil weed So here I am again...
Today is day 10 of my quit and I feel stronger and more positive this time around. On days 3 and 5 I found myself in the queue at the cigarette counter, money at the ready, only to walk away before it was my turn to be served! I visited friends over the weekend and didn't even feel tempted when they lit up.
The only thing getting me down right now are mouth ulcers, I have 2 and they are quite sore I know they are a side effect and will go soon. I also have a sore arm (damn wii fit boxing lol) which is also keeping me awake at night. Still, it's a far better alternative than to be kept awake by coughing and spluttering so I'll live with it

Welcome back to the forum and well done restarting your quit 10 days is great and pleased to hear you feel stronger and more positive this time even to the point of being in the fag que and walking away before it was your turn and also visiting smoking freinds and not being tempted that's great
Sorry about the mouth ulcers bat as you sya they will go soon
In case you need a refresher course I'm posting you my standard welcome and advice post OK
Welcome to the forum and well done on the decision to quit possibly one of the most important you will ever make and you will be losing nothing but you will regain control of your life and that has to be good
You will find all the help and support you need on here as we all help each other just like a family we are here for you every step of the way cheering the good days and sympathising with the bad but the good far outweigh the bad
Read the posts on here you will find a lot of tips and advice and in the signatures of a lot you will find links to other sites just click on them Here are 2 I find very good to start you off whyquit.com and woofmang.com Read, read and then read some more as the more you read and learn about why you smoked and about your addiction the easier your quit will be
Well done for trying again! Its a difficult thing to do, but yey you're past the first week! and that first week sucks big time! Keep going, you can do it! And good on ya for not giving in to the temptation. I've been finding it really difficult round people who smoke. I like to be near them for the smell of it, but then the urges start over powering the situation and i have to run away!! odd.. heh.. oh well, it will get easier as time goes on.
make this the one Tracee- read as much as youncan on this site good luck - you know its the right decision
xx
I intend to. Thanks duckling

Thanks! I see we are nearly twins, only 24 hours between us so keep up the good work too!! I know what you mean about running away from smokers as I had to do that today. I wasnt affected by the smell the other night but I was today, maybe because it was outside, I don't know, but when my demons said "oooh, that smells nice" my legs decided to step up the pace and walk faster. Run run and dont look back lol
Good for you. 10 days into a cold turkey quit. I can relate to what you are going through. The BEST part of cold turkey is that things end quickly; because the body starts the process of healing sooner. Hang in there and best wishes.
Hi Tracey, welcome back, well done getting to 10 days already. To help you, you could read some of the websites in our signatures they will definitely help you to understand what this crazy addiction to nicotine does to us.
