What can i say...I fell on (off?) the bandwagon again. Wfter quitting for a year and 3 months I started smoking again early in march. what i feel is so shocking is how fast I was back smoking ten a day (it took me less than two days) I feel a bit powerless to stop it but I am going to stop after this last packet. So Here I am, hi again, and i hope I can do it again..this time forever.
Damn back at Day one again: What can i say... - No Smoking Day

Welcome DTP, its not easy, OH and I gave in after only 3 months its taken 2 years to get back here. It shows none of us can be complacent with non smoking, (I am a fine one to talk) but aside from that best wishes and stay strong, you have done it before and you will again.

Thanks for the feedback people, I still think my level of smoking is directly related to my vest for life as recently things have been going really down hill. never complacent, I want to get back to being that person who found quitting quite easy and hopefully if this forum is a good as it used to be Ill have others to help me on my way
P.s how do I join the april showers group?
Hi, I am not sure how you join the showers but just wanted to say welcome (back) to the forum. It just shows, you need to be on your toes at all times with the nicotine addiction.
Welcome DPT! To add yourself to the April Shower Group, simply copy/paste from someone's signature (Ace Wisdom in this link) then go to User CP top left and go to edit signature..... paste and add your name and voila!
Good luck with your quit.... you know how to do it (15 months!! Nice going!) Withdrawl will maybe more physical for you as you have just recently started again?! I hope so

That somehow triggered a little earthquake in me. The last time I quit i found it very easy, didn't think about fags for more than a day. I guess that gave me a false sense of confidence and after a year I started again because i wanted to. Too long ago but I'm pretty sure that I must have had thoughts along the lines of 'well, it was easy the first time so it will be easy again'. Only it wasn't/isn't. Have been fighting for years now.
Hi Dip4life
I remember you from last time so welcome home. so very sorry you found your self back to smoking but whats do is done.
You know it can be done so good luck hope I can give you support. Linda xxxx
been ther 2 dude-
i'v been in ur position so many times-like u and bioxx i quit 4 a year a few years ago and found it so easy-after a year i fell back in and have been tryen to free myself ever since-
i'm just crossing th thresh hold to day 13 and have a bit of an itch right now-my first main one on this final successful quit-a few weeks ago i joined this forum-i'd a patch on, had a cig in my hand and had tried so many times the stress was gona get me b4 th cigs!i was a hopeless case:eek:
i'v learned about addiction-i'm wearing a 10mg patch which takes most (not all) of the edge off and i'm weaning my nicotine addiction down-i'm gona win this time-no matter how many attempts anyone has made , its this one that counts
with th right frame of mind u can win dudes
How sad for you to find yourself back at day 1 after so long. However your courage to come back here and tell your story tells me I have to be vigilant no matter how long I am stopped and also you were helped here so I am definitely in the right place to help me stay stopped - even if I come on here for life.
Welcome.
Jackie
Very scary reading that you started again after 15 months. The first thing that comes to mind is WHY??? Does complacency set in after so long? I am on my 15th day today and have had more cravings than I have done since 1st and 2nd day but I am in the mindset that I am stopping no matter what it takes..It freaks me out that after 15 months you can easily start again and become addicted withing a couple of days...It seems we will all be fighting this addiction for life...
Imagine
Dtp imagine how much stronger this quit will be..
couple with that, a greater determination
and commitment
and being a non smoker
will bring an addition to your name ...
Dtp.. the non smoker!!!:):)
You are doing it already.. keep going...
Hiya, i'm sorry to hear how well you did to find you lapsed.
1 good thing is that in sharing this with us all we all know how easy it can be to slip back to old ways.
Good luck this time i hope you quit for good this time.
Nikki
